This is such an original story! I have never read enything like it. You develop your characters in short order like no one I have ever seen. I have such a mental image of the Johnsons!

It took me so long to read this chapter this afternoon and get to writing the review.  I'm officially a convert to Boxing Day!  But between emails, IMs, spawn, spouse, parents, and holiday negotiations, I feel lost... where to begin...

Of course, the schmexing is always delightful, but I really liked all the sweetness.  When she walks in and he's laying on the bed with his arm thrown over his eyes.  So heartbreaking.  His conversation with Stephanie - that will be interesting for OTT - that forces him to think about himself as a product to be marketed.  How hard must that be to realize, that you don't just have your work/art but the "packaging, distribution, and advertising" to boot.  That has to suck some of the joy out of your work no matter how much you love it.  It can't feel good.

Her brother was such an ass.  I half expected Rob to grab the phone from her hand and give Robb a piece of his mind.  He usually doesn't have a lot of restraint when it comes to her.  But the boxing to relieve stress at the end of it all was brilliant.

Bubble and Squeak cracked me up.  I really have to do more research on British cuisine.  But everyday food here is a hodge-podge of cultures, so I wonder what Clare would cook as everyday stuff.  I wonder how much our "Johnny Cakes" of the pioneer days was born from Bubble and Squeak?  Hmmm... I need a nutritional anthropologist.  Whenever Alton needs one, one appears, but (alas) the same has not happened for me.

Very sweet chapter, hon!  Jen is finally getting it.  She's going to start to believe she deserves this.  Maybe even start to see that he wants her as much as she wants him.

the phone convo should be very interesting for OTT. I think Rob gets it to some degree, but he is young and feels he has made his way on his work too... maybe a little too much... but hto hear it from two ends that he is about the packaging has got to be rough.

Her brother... he is an ass, mostly for petty reasons... and we'll learn more as we see her settle her affairs back in the states....Poor Rob was blindsided it think... too surprised to do anything at the moment... but that doesn't mean he won't somewhere down the road. hehehe

Oh Bubble and Squeak... Jamie Oliver had me sold, and my dear reader FAY has sent me ways to make it... I haven't perfected it yet, but i think it is tailored really toward what you have on hand and what you like in it...whatever... i'm having some when i go to England! even if i have to knock on Clare's door to ask....

Jen is starting to feel it... he loves her, and she him... this is it... this is real...

I think Jen is pregnant. Yes I know she had a hysterectomy after the accident but miracles can happen right? Unless it was a complete removal of everything reproductive?

hehee.. 2 reviews! and yo are not the only one to suggest this...

ok...so here are the facts to Jen and her reproductive affairs... as i can explain currently...she lost her child in the accident. If you caught the scars descriptions back on the first night in london with Rob, we know they had to take the child out via something akin to a c-section, so she has a scar where you would have a c-section scar, but a tad smaller...

she also had 2 small scars on her back near her hip... these are points of penetration from the accident, which ultimately went thru her uterus and harmed both her and her child. It wasn't just the impact that killed her baby, and being an emergency abortion at 6 months.... alot can happen there in the emergency room and afterwards...infections, trauma, etc...

She has semi regular periods.... so anyone with medical knowledge can take that as they will...

she did not get a hysterectomy, so her organs are intact. i am still doing research on it all... my nurse practitioner thinks i am weird.... oh well...

Her doctor informed her right after the accident that she can't have children. that can be taken as however folks would like to take it as well...

and miracles definitely happen... 

I LOVE that you are not the only person to say she is pregnant... i am wondering why though?

Is it because she is feeling squishy, or because she only ate half her sandwich (or because Rob is having sympathetic hunger issues- LOL!) i am dying to know...

Wow.  Rob/Jen back with a vengeance.  Sorrowful, rejection dreams; intelligent, insightful Jen re his career and perceptions.  bubble and squeak, love it, make it, (my mom was from Ireland). BUT I totally loved the redirected anger, punching bag routine.  Gotta say, I love the powerful Jen reeling from the unleashed anger. Rob responding in kind. They are such passionate people. Talk about panty puddling.  Whew. Steph you make us reel with your story telling.

Wow! i have got to take up boxing!

So, Rob and Jen are going to be sneeking around rather than comming out. Could be fun, though I'm not sure how long they will get away with it. and is that a little hint about something that will surprised Jen?

finally all is right in the world, we are back with Jen and rob doing the naughty in the 'rents house. lol

i ended up reading ch 39 before this and now I'm in a christmas mood... gosh,  has it been 3 months since christmas? it feels like yesterday.

there was so much in this chapter and it hit me how much I missed these two, so glad you have them back... and what is up with his appetite... is it so wrong that I find he ravinish appetite so freaking hot? and the boxing? shirtless rob in broken in jeans?i just want to lick him... or something.. lol

as always awesome chapter and wanting more.. :)esp can't wait to see nick sucking up... oh yeah, her brother is an ass.. just thought it needed to be said..
