I like this story and I'm not really a fan of RPF. But this one got to me and I really like it but the England chapters kind of dimmed the story for me. They helped to strengthen the foundation of their relationship but it was just SO many chapters. I thought for sure it would be 5 or less and then the story would move on but England at the parents house, England shopping, England hanging out with the friends, Mass in England it dragged and felt like the story wasn't moving.
Before the left for London I thought the pace was great. I'm not ashamed to say I've flipped through the past few chapters like a magazine. 14 chapters and finally Christmas was too much. I want to see how it ends because I like Rob and Jen together but I most definitely didn't like these parts.
I loved his family and they were so wonderful to Jen but I think all of that love and growth could have been done in 6 chapters at the most.

Hopefully the next dozen chapters pick up for you, not sure whether it is just England or the content in general. but we'll be in England for a while.

Author's Response: hehehe. The List and subsequently "the list" is a reference to Laura Cullen's twi fic, "The List" post Eclipse before the wedding... as very good story i highly recommend. check it out. it was my first foray into fan fic. and she didn't pull it! yay!

Finally they're back together! I feel so sorry for Jen because she's in so much emotional pain, but I do hope Rob will make it better for her. Although it's going to be hard when she has to tell him about the baby...
This chapter was one of the few that managed to make me cry. But I'm sure the teaser will make me feel better immediately :-)

Hello. dearest! Hopefully you are downing your first of several frosty beverages in advance of the final show. I am all caught up and SOO thrilled with this chapter. I knew when he said he'd see her tomorrow that he wasn't going to wait for her to come to London. Thank heaven - the poor girl did not need that flight alone.
Beautifully written... she's such a mess. I could shake her for her narrow definition of motherhood, but she doesn't understand. It's not the stretchmarks or the "117 hours of labor says you'll clean this room before I..." confrontations that make you a mother. It's driving to the 24 hour pharmacy at 3am in a strange city to buy a thermometer and some infant Tylenol because she just looks "off," it's handing her your ice cream cone because hers just fell on the ground, it's saying goodnight to your friends to go pick up your sick son... those are the things that make us mothers. She's young and she doesn't understand. She will... he'll help her... I just know he will.
After all, men don't carry the children, and that certainly doesn't make them less parental. He will make her understand what she means to him.
And you will show us. And that makes me happy.
10 days! Yayayayayayay! Can't wait. Could you maybe squeeze in some time to read the two Hunger Games books? No? Oh, well. Jess and I will wait until you fall asleep! *mwah* Love you, ET. Wonderful job as always. You're a wonder!

Rob came to her, yep. he knew she needed him. She really is a mess. It is so sad when you are at the bottom of your mental opinion of yourself, how everything twists up and seems rational, to where you believe it.
Motherhood is so much more. thank you for that. She'll learn. he'll learn. they have so much growing themselves to do. But they'll come to realize that being parents is fulfilling and worthwhile in any capacity they will be able to achieve. She'll see it. it'll just take healing....and teh love of the family and the man who would drop everything for her.
sigh... 8 days. i cannot wait. i am so looking forward to it! love you my dear! (yeah, hunger games.... maybe if i dont sleep...hahahah)I think i'll try reading some LOC instead and getting up to date on that when i can!

Oh God, Steph..I have been reading non-stop ALL day and I am drained. But so glad I got caught up. This story is incredible beyond words. Poor dear Jen. What a fucked up life she has had to endure. But just when you thought you could hate Nick unconditionally, he redeems himself and is the one that makes her see the light. Rob IS her one thing and now it's time to use his strength as her life line. You are an amazing author and as soon as I give my eyes a rest and handle some very neglected RL shizzz, I will jump into On the Threshold. Can't wait for this to update. Big loving hugs to you for giving me such an incredible story to sink my heart into.

loss... i have not suffered the loss that Jen has in regards to her child (children) but I did have a Mike.
Mike was my high school sweetheart, became a Marine while i went away to college. He missed the first Gulf War (thank God)
Mike and i split up shortly after college, which devastated me. he was my first love, my muirnin. I found out he died in Iraq shortly after we invaded the second time. I had since married and found my wonderful husband, who is proof that there is love at first sight. He was what helped me to say goodbye to Mike in the context of giving up whatever torch I may have held for him.
But Mike's death certainly was a blow to me, even after marrying and continuing on...
ahhh. so there you have it. will always love Mike, there will always be a space for him in my heart. But i have found a wonderful love and partner in my husband. There's always a chance a love...
you all have shared some absolutely heartwrenching stories with me, it seems only fair to offer a little of my own heartfail in return. and know that we can survive it.

I started reading this story Sunday evening and I'm all caught up now. I love it!! I really like the whole Rob/Jen relationship. I was so glad that Jen stood up to Kristen and now they have a good relationship. I'm so glad Rob's family have taken Jen in especially clare. I really feel for Jen over the baby. I think Rob will be a bit upset that she didn't tell him, I just hope he isn't too angry!! I cried when Rob turned up at the end of this chapter, I had a feeling that he would. I hope all goes well for these two and that it is an HEA, I want them to come out and tell the public of their love for each other.

His voice and eyes just melt the panties right off of me. Can you tell that I have a thing for men with beautiful fuck me eyes and velvet voices? GAH!!!!
