Author's Response: Ugh! I know, I know. I totally suck. The only chapter that isn't finished is the next one. It's in Epov and he's refusing to talk to me. I've tried everything, including baking him brownies but nothing is working. Maybe knowing you're frustrated will convince to open up to me about what's going on in that handsome head of his.

Author's Response: I know, right? Edward is such a hassle - and he's the reason the next chapter hasn't posted yet. It's one of the few I have left that are from his POV and he's making it extremely difficult. He wants to come across as the good guy but he just keeps insisting on doing things that so off his emo side.
Thanks for the review. I really needed it to show Edward that people are still waiting for an update to this story.

FINALLY! I'm so happy to see Bella back where she should be! As much as I've been annoyed and frustrated with Jacob (and Bella, really), I still feel sorry for his being so lost now, losing the pack-mind and all.
Hopefully some of that will get settled sooner rather than later, I still want him to get his HEA or some kind of resolution :)

sorry I read your update last night but forgot to review. Damn Twilighted always times me out if a chapter is long, or I take too long to read it. I am glad to see you threw our heroine back into the thick of things-with people other than Jacob around her!! The dynamic becomes so much more interesting with more characters especially because you bring in the conflict-actually all kinds of conflicts! Although it appears she and Edward are not making any headway-a certain werewolf still in the way! Poor Bella.

I haven't read the other reviews so I am not sure what your author's notes are about. But as of ch. 23, I've really been enjoying it. I do think Bella and Edward have been OOC in some places. But that doesn't really bother me. In truth, I like your Bella better than the original. I just wonder how it is that she is smart enough to predict Edward's attempted desertion, but too stupid to realize Jacob's true feelings for her until she's practically whacked in the face with a 2x4.
Anyway, I normally don't read the r-rated fics and was worried I'd be forced to scroll through a bunch of "lemons" to follow the story but I'm relieved you did not take that route. It's been fun and I look forward to seeing how the story continues. I won't post a rating until it's finished. Write on ;)

I am so sorry for Jacob to have imprinted on her. Explains a lot, of course, and I am sure that, eventually, his heart will heal and he'll be content with the Just Friends thing. I really do. I can see he's trying, which has to mean it's a real imprint, because he wants Bella to be happy.
Glad Edward got a tiny bit of brave back when he kissed Bella. Whew.
And I am guessing that Bella Swan IS Lemony Snicket. ;-)

ugh, Bella, I understand she just has to love everybody, but come on...!! She needs to grow a pair and let Jacob become a man, instead of the man-boy he is now! If she continues to coddle him, he will never grow, and Edward will always question... grrr

I don't understand why Bella got in trouble and why Edward was not mad and fought to get her back at the hospital.. Am I mistaken that Joacob TOOK bella at the first of the story??? This chapter kinda felt like it went off track from the rest of the story. But please update soon I need another chapter to help me.

Author's Response: I know, so frustrating, right? I actually hated writing this chapter because of the way everyone insisted on behaving but they just would not have it any other way. The next chapter is almost fluffy so, I hope it makes up for this one :-) It's also currently waiting to be validated so it should be up soon.

wait... what?! I'm "OMG"ing at that last part there... Edward's back but not really? Jacob is so incredibly dense "What's wrong?" sigh... I know he's only a teenager, but he's a supernatural one, and surely he'd have some kind of idea/suspicion that maybe what's wrong is that Bella is too far separated from her other half. But then, he's always had a problem accepting that vampire-mates can be the equivalent of a wolf-imprint, so I guess I shouldn't be that surprised :P
Looking forward to some good news for Bella soon, I hope :)
Author's Response: I think Jake is in severe denial at this point but, don't fret, he won't get away with this craziness for much longer. I hope the next chapter helps explain things a little more. Jake's motivations are driven by the need for him to keep Bella safe.

Why didn't Edward say anything to her? Why did he leave just as suddenly? Please update again soon.
Author's Response: I can honestly say the answers to those two questions will be addressed in the next chapter. We will find out what was going through Edward's mind - even though we won't hear from him directly just yet.
