I dunno about the whole immortal thing. I think I would have been tempted to go for it, but then changed my mind in the last minute. I think death is part of the whole 'experience' of life, you know?
But either way, I think I would have regretted it. If I changed, I would have wanted to die after a while. But if I didn't, I would have wanted to stay with Edward forever.
Oh well. It's a no-win situation to me. Kinda sad, really. If the change was reversible though...sweet thought.

*sniffles* I wasn't crying until the part where Edward finished the piece and walked over to Bella's side. When Bella began to speak, the tears stung. None fell, but man, that was the closest I've ever come to crying because of a good fic. If I was Edward, I would be bawling my dry eyes out, choking out sobs that may seem like I'm gagging. He's pretty strong for not breaking down in front of Bella.

Author's Response: Thank you for reviewing. It would have been v. peaceful had SM made Bella stay human, but I'm sure all the fans would have been on an all time low! There would have been an international mourning day or something for Bella Swan! I personally think both endings would have made me happy, but of course...BELLA AND EDWARD FOREVER!!

Honestly, I don't think I've ever cried harder than I did when I read this. I was hyperventilating and shaking.. It was bad. But, this is some of the best written fiction I have read in a very long time. It surprised me that we are the same age, and yet you write as though you are so much wiser. I wrote this on a day off school because of snow, and inspiration hit after listening to the Maine's album, continuously listening to Whoever She Is, and reading another very well written third person story. I love writing in third person; I can really capture the overall feeling of the scene. And I think this story was perfect for that, because it needed to have the balance between sadness and tranquillity.
I honestly didn't expect so many people to cry over this, though this was the most emotional and calming piece I had written, and it really did make me feel something for Edward and Bella. I find, when I write, it's not me writing, but my subconciousness, and the only thing that's actually me doing the work is when I edit it afterwards!

This was so beautiful and so sweet. I love the perception of the little girl and that Edward verified the truth of it, no matter the social consequence...theirs really is true love and you've written this alternate end to Bella's existance beautifully.

That was really beautiful. Although it tugs at the heart, it has an overall peaceful feeling. It's interesting to think about what would have happened if the Edward of the first three books had stuck around - the one that didn't want to change Bella. Very nice one-shot - thanks for sharing!
