I've been very wrapped up in this story since the first chapter. When I read this one, I didn't shed any tears but my body had the cold chills you described Kate having and a strong wave of nausea with it. Your description of Kate's emotions mirrored what I felt when my husband betrayed me. I get the feeling you've felt that in your life as well. Before I could emptied my stomach, I had an epiphany about what I believe has happened here. I do so hope I'm right. I suspect Alexi managed to get in the hotel room with Rob telling him it was for some "legitimate" reason and somehow led him to believe she left the room after whatever talk occured but didn't. I suspect that while Rob was in the shower thinking he was alone in the hotel room, Alexi found his cell phone and sent the text message to Kate, not Rob. I also suspect Alexi found one of Rob's shirts and changed into it to make Kate believe Rob was cheating on her knowing Kate was on her way to the hotel room as requested in the text. With the paparazzi waiting and asking questions about her relationship with Rob, I also think Alexi tipped them off to cause Kate to become more suspicious and then humiliate Kate when she would escape the hotel in defeat. It's said that "it's calmest before the storm" and that may explain Alexi's quiet absence because she was scheming during that time to find a way to split Rob and Kate. I know you won't confirm this for the sake of the story, but minus the paparazzi, this is what my husband's mistress did to me.

That whole think with that Suzanne chick is still bugging the shit out of me. And apparently it's still on Kate's mind as well. I'm also uncomfortable with how quickly Rob knew which PA Lexi was talking about. But then again, if Suzanne was overly flirtatious or came on particularly strong, then maybe it was the obvious choice. I'd still like to know more about what happened when she was coming out of his dressing room and his response when Liz and Kate entered it. Hmmm.
I do believe, though, that Rob wouldn't cheat on Kate and that he loves her deeply. I just wish that Kate wasn't so gunshy about a proposal. Obviously, it's been on his mind.
Sorry it took so long to get to this update. RL and judging the AoE contest has taken its toll on my free time.
Looking forward to whatever you have coming up for these two. I have a feeling there will be more bumps in the road.
Author's Response: Trust me, I know how RL can diminish free time! Alexi is bad news, but the situation with Suzanne may not be as bad as it seems. Time will tell... ;) Kate believes in Rob, but is still so surprised that all this happiness has come her way--she keeps expecting the other shoe to drop. But I have a feeling that she'll see the light...eventually.

I'm all caught up with Katy and Rob!!!! Looks like there might be a few bumps ahead. Not sure if Alexi is in cahoots with anyone just yet. Grace has me guessing. I'm not quite sure of her intentions and her change of heart, but, that's the way you want it!!! Keep us guessing -- and I like it!!! I enjoy that bit of angst.
Reading your story makes me realize just how much I miss Rob-fic. There's nothing quite like it. These were the fics I cut my teeth on so to speak, brought me into the fandom. Not too many new Rob-fics. There are 5 of you that are my all time favs (You, Carson1, HoldMeRansom, SwimmingBee and jakeward.)
I'm enjoying this soooo much. Can't wait to see where you take these two delicious characters. Thank you for writing for us. I appreciate you more than my words can express.

Just finished rereading and ready to continue your little journey with Rob and Katy (I can call her Katy because I love her). I've been holding back, not reading your story because I know when I'm caught up I'll be in a tizzy wondering what's up next!!! Yes, I can become quite bratty and selfish while enjoying your stories. Gah You always leave me wishing there was another "next."
You know, it feels like coming home reading these chapters again. I have always enjoyed your gift of telling a tale. You're one of what I call my "purest/purist" authors in our fandom. (Yeah, their meanings intermingle for me.) You make fiction seem like reality and deposit me right into the story as the proverbial third wheel with these two.
Sooo, get ready. Quit shaking your head!!! I'm reading RH again and will be reviewing as I get caught up and will probably bitch to myself that I should have waited when there isn't another chapter to read.
