I understand Rob’s discomfort in the interview, but now I don’t understand that douchy move of putting his hand on that chick's ass and then winking at Kate. He has to know that wouldn’t reflect well on him. Maybe it’s his form of self-preservation for his ego. IDK, but I kinda want to slap him and not in a good way.
Kate on the other hand, still diggin her!!
Author's Response: Hello again! Self-preservation is right--plus he doesn't quite know what to do with his feelings for Kate. Have faith! Our boy will come around...eventually. ;)

Okay, maybe 5 times is the charm. I can’t seem to leave a review for this chapter to save my life. Ugh, frustrating!! I wrote this back on 7/25 and Twilighted just wouldn't let it go through. Hopefully this time works.
Anyway, Steph put a link to this on FB and because I adore her, trust her judgment and love NTE, I thought I’d give it a shot. I’m so glad I did!
I love Kate and her strength. That she can let loose and self-confident.
I don’t love Rob’s smugness. I can somewhat understand it if at this point in his career he has had so many women throw themselves at him and hoards of sycophants making things easy on him, but I like to think of him as more grounded. I just hope that Kate finds a way to wipe that smirk off his face!

In the future I'm projecting, Rob has had a sucessful career, but is still recovering from his disasterous romance several months earlier with Sabrina. He's as distrustful as Kate is, so things could be tricky between them for a while! Hee. Plus, as wonderful as I think Rob is, I suspect he definitely has his moments of less-than-noble behavior. None of us are perfect, right? :)

Lol, that was a surprise, I thought the next time they would be meeting would be at the Globes.
So the blonde was a singer, who? Who was she? Rob's being frugal with details. If I was Kate I'd now be driving myself daft trying to find out who she is. From all Rob's actions it certainly looks to me that he's looking for more that a one night stand. I mean, after all, you don't keep pursuing a possible one nighter that binned you off now do you? No you don't. I know he's digging about the article and whether he's going to be painted as an arsehole too but I think that's a convenient excuse to get closer to Kate.
I'm looking forward to the next chapter.

Weird, I wrote reviews for two different fics on the same day, and neither one showed up. Yours was one of them. Again, weird. So, here goes again. What on Earth is Rob thinking? Really. I'm guessing that he is trying to get her attention or get a reaction out of her, but he is not doing it the right way. Men can be so thick-headed sometimes.......even extremely good-looking, sexy ones, right? And Kate....thinking that she is done with him......ended her "brief association." HA! Well, Ms. Kate, we, the readers, know better. ;) Great job, Barb!

Hi. Just found this and I'm enjoying seeing a future projection of Rob. I've never corrected an author before, but I feel bound to point out that you've confused the film Fellowship with the book. Book Frodo does not meet Arwen until Rivendelll. I understand why Peter Jackson wanted to beef up Arwen's role, but I regret the loss of Glorfindel who I love. I also agree with your view of the gorgeous Viggo. Sorry for the pedantry, and thanks for your story. Eesti.
Author's Response: Oh my gosh! I can't believe I did that--I do know better, trust me. Thank you so much for pointing it out; I have corrected that part. My only excuse is that I've seen the movie far more recently than the book, and that image was in my mind. As much as I love Glorfindel, I enjoyed seeing Arwen challenging the Riders at the Ford.

Winked, bwahahaha. I was thinking at first that the blondes may have been his sisters but then I'm not sure that he'd put his hand on his sister's arse, then on the other hand he fancies Kate and it may be that he's trying to get a reaction from her.
I loved the interview. I can just imagine Rob sitting there like a sulky little boy. I'm sensing that these two might be 'testing' each other for a while. I can't wait to find out who the two blondes are.

You're back, how I've missed you. I like your new story and I'm looking forward to the rest.
Lol, I can understand Kate's trepidation at turning thirty, it depressed me more that turning forty, weird I know. BBC, bwahahaha, it's our national sport. If it was part of the olympics we'd win gold every time.
So how long has Kate been harbouring this attraction to Rob? As long as her row-mate on the plane? Lol. Is Rob really looking for just a hook up? I can understand the need to protect your heart after what happened to the both of them. You have to learn to open up and trust again or else it becomes a very lonely life.
I'm off to the next chapter to see just how Rob handles this. I should imagine he's thinking along the lines of 'fuck my life' lol. Somehow I think his plans or the rest of his evening might be changing.

Add to that Kate's job in the media, and you've got a lot of distrust to overcome. But the attraction is there...they just don't know what to do with it! Ha!
