"Two paths diverge in a forest, each as unique as the eyes that gaze down them." A white bearded man appeared beside her, hands clasped behind his back and the nipping wind ruffling the deep plum velvet of his robes. Bella knew that she should be startled by the ancient man's sudden and unexplained appearance, but she remained at ease under his twinkling cobalt eyes. "One may only go forward and never back. The past has shaped this very road— every curve and bend, every bump and dip, every rock and weed. Through pain, love, and joy the road was forged. Its path can never remain straight for eternity, for then the wanderer would not have experienced the beautifully sweet agony that is life. To choose your path in life is to accept doubt, as everyone doubts their choices .To live— truly live— is to question yourself. Every man, woman, and child— be they muggle or wizard is doomed to that fate."
The elderly man pointed a gnarled finger toward the moss-laden trail. "To the right…"
Bella squinted in confusion as a tall figure came to the crest before hesitating beneath the shade of a large pine. "…Is one path you may travel. Shall it lead you to days of pleasure and joy, or sorrow and heartbreak? Rest assured, child. It will lead you to every last one. In the many years I've walked the earth, never was I truly sure of the outcomes of my ventures. Never once was I completely certain of the choices I've made. The only thing you can do is weigh your options and choose accordingly.
