I love seeing Edward being so ecstatically happy!  I imagine that Jasper must be like a person high on drugs at this point, overdosing on all the happiness coming from Edward.  *grin*  The baby shower was sweet.  Honestly, every girl should have one to remember.  It's a moment to bond with the women in your life, really.  I'm a little surprised that Edward is taking the shotgun rumors so well, but I'm glad.  Getting angry about it doesn't help matters.  The most important people know the truth, after all.  I loved his reaction to the wolf scent, I find his protectiveness horribly smexy.  I'm totally confused on what the sooks is though.  Never heard that term before!

Being a mother adds some significance while readig this chapter. It's kind of impossible, I think, for someone to fully understand the beauty of giving birth until you experience it. I loved particularly the small moment between Carlisle and Edward. One of the things I disliked about BD was how it had the opportunity to show the bond between those two and just didn't. The entire chapter was just beautiful and once again reduced me to tears. You do that a lot.

I can't even begin to tell you how much you so thoroughly pwn me. Seriously, you blow me away over and over again. I actually reread your entire story a few days ago and cried all over again. And now, with this chapter, I can feel the ending draw nigh and it makes me sad. This is probably my absolute favorite story ever. Considering I've literally read over a thousand fics for Twilight, well. You've written a story I can see myself rereading over and over again and that is so rare for me.

So I know this is kind of random, but I was thinking about your story and had yo go back and reread some scenes. It occurred to me just how ashamed Edward felt and how it must have really hit him hard because it had absolutely nothing to do with his being a vampire. It was something utterly human. All these years all of his angst stemmed from being a vampire, it must have been a real blow to believe he did something so shameful even as a human. He couldn't blame the monster on this. It makes me think how he must have felt doubly worthless, both as a human and now as a vampire.

Anyway, I just wanted to share my sudden epiphany. I don't know if you were wanting us to feel this way about Edward or not, but that was how I interpreted a few hints here and there. Thanks so much for writing again! I can't tell you how many times I've thought about this story.

You're spot on!  Yes, that's what I was hinting at.   Bella comments (in chapter 2 or 3 I think) that she wonders if Edward's self loathing had started before he was a vampire.  And then the night Edward explains his epiphany to Bella, he says something like he's been worried about hurting her as a man, not just as a vampire.  He also says, when they're reading the diary, "I'm not who I thought I was."   So yeah, he brought a heap of angst with him into his vampire life, he just didn't realise where it stemmed from.  He'll talk a bit about all this in his epilogue.  Thanks so much for the feedback, I love hearing people's thoughts on the story :)

Interesting story!  Very different from other fanfic, and I've read quite a lot.  I wonder if any of the peons at the school has explained to Bella the rivalry between the two and whether Bella has figured out she's the next piece they're scrabbling over. 

Just found this story and I'm intrigued. I like the time frame because Bella knows but she's uncertain, and of course she hasn't acknowledged her feelings yet. Edward, on the other hand, if I remember right, has acknowledged his feelings to himself? I can't remember right now Midnight Sun. Anyway, I can't wait to see more!

Wow, lots of weird details.  Sounds like Charlie was a super-something.  I can't imagine Bella not wanting to find his killer though, that seems like the first thing she'd want is to find justice for his murder.

Edward was a real gem taking care of Bella so well. I know a lot of guys who would have been too uncomfortable in that situation and left it up to Alice to take care of it. It looks like Bella is really dealing with her heartaches. I'm glad. I can't imagine how she must feel on a daily basis.

I'm glad that Edward isn't acting jealous of her experiences with Jasper and Tanya. Well, Jasper - I don't think many guys would get upset at the thought of girl on girl action. But still, he isn't going all caveman and that's exactly what she needs right now.

The awkwardness of that day for Bella reached unparalelled heights. You gotta give props for doing it. I can't help but be curious as to what happened with Tanya and Kate's relationship now.

Edward losing his twin was sad and totally unexpected. Somehow I cannot imagine a female Edward. I know that's the last thing I should be thinking about but that was the first thing that popped into my head.

I gotta admit, 69 has never been a favorite of mine.  I'm just too darn short for it to be anything but slightly awkward, no matter what.  But you have to at least try it, right?  I'm glad to see Bella being friends still with Tanya.  For some reason I like their dynamic.

I love the idea of their traveling together for the summer. It is a great thing to do, for one thing. And it also Means she won't feel alone if Edward were to go home. Even if she were to go with him, I don't think it would be the same.

Uh, whoops?  Durn, I hope Rosalie didn't take too much blood!  But I'm guessing not, since she didn't taste that much of it it seems.  I can't wait to see if the others mess up too.  *grin*  I loved the line about Bella causing Edward brain damage from running around in his head, that was cute!

Well Edward got to let his protective side come out and play and it was all legit.  Alex of course needed to be cast to the wayside, and Trudy - well, I have strong feelings about a girl who would do that to her own friend.
