Wow, that was dark.  I've read a lot of dark stuff but this was right around the bottom of the barrel, where the weird icky gooky stuff resides that you don't want to touch.  Very realistic though.  Edward underestimated Aro completely, but at the same time there really was nothing he could have done.  Poor Bella.  I have to agree with you that it never made sense to me in canon that Bella came with this super control just because she happened to know about vampires before she was turned?  That makes no sense.  I can know that sugar is bad for me but it will still take damn good.  The question I have for them is, how much more can they withstand from Aro?  Because he's just going to up the ante and attack in some other fashion.

Poor Edward. He's really up against bad odds here, and he's trying so damn HARD. He was practically sweating he was trying so hard to protect Bella and get her out of there. I'm not sure why, but this chapter in particular really made me feel his utter devotion to her. Even comparing to other fanfics, this chapter just resonated with his singular focus and need to protect Bella no matter the cost to himself. It made me want to smooch him and order Bella to cuddle him to her boobs until he felt better.

I love how Carlisle wanted to protect them from the Volturi. I always felt they weren't scary enough in the books. I loved in particular the way you worded how he had always shielded them from the Volturi, it felt so much more protective and proactive than the norm with regards to their patriarch.

They kissed! And now they're going in to the battle of wits for their lives...

Author's Response:

Thank you so much for the review.

I'm happy that you pointed out the fact that Carlisle shielded them from it. I definitely imagined that he would have done that, while giving them just enough to protect them. They need the knowledge, but shielding your children can sometimes be a part of parenthood.

I, too, wished the volturi were more frightening in the saga. I am glad I get to play with the more vile and evil natures of them.

Thanks a bunch!

Wow, I had no inkling of Alec being the roaming bad guy. Huh. Too coincidental indeed for him to be there while Bella went missing. But I'm wondering if maybe he was looking for James and company. Maybe they were supposed to get Bella...

Jacob sure is unforgiving. He's like a dog with a bone (heh) when it comes to who bit Bella.

I bet doughnuts that Bella is going to end up running at the Volturi too, just like she did with the dogs...

Author's Response:

Thanks for the review, and for the theories!

A lot of people are really hating on Jake, right now, and rightfully so. I think he's showing just how immature he is. Though, it's got to be pretty difficult seeing the girl of your dreams and best friend turn into your enemy.

Bella? Run head-first into danger? hmmm... =)

Thanks again!

Now see, this makes me so happy!  I love that you're back and His Horniness (aka the monster) is back too!  I LOVE the idea of role playing to spice things up.  I think that it would really help both of them with certain inhibitions.  Edward really gets off on the whole domination thing, but surprise - he liked being a sexual object used for pleasure too.  The thing about the guys in the bookstore was hilarious, he totally doesn't see how utterly pot/kettle/black that was.  In fact, there's quite a bit of room for some RPG fun there.  I wonder if he could persuade Bella to let him into the stockroom for some one on one time.  He needs to claim her as his woman, right?  I can just picture it now - coming into the store, then cumming in her pussy... it's like peeing on her leg, except much better.  I can imagine the smirk on his face as he leaves her all flustered with that just-been-fucked look, the smell of sex on her, and the slowly dawning realization of what he's just done and why.  And of course Bella should have her turn/revenge...

Look what you've done, my imagination is going wild!  *grin*

Thanks for writing dear!  I have no idea why you were nervous about posting that first chapter.  It was sublime!

My goodness, Edward definitely has a primal side to him. He was very much in touch with his monster there. I wonder if Bella ever brags about Edward's skills to anyone? I know she's shy about things like that, but I can't imagine not wanting to dish about how awesome he is. I mean, five times in one night, heck in one session?

Thanks for the update!

I just found this story and it's fantastic! I love stories in which Bella is something other, and this has to be the most unusual other that I've seen. I love the attention to detail. I'm not familiar with coatl lore, so it is fascinating thus far. I'm quite indignant for Bella's sake at her treatment at the vampires' hands, even though there was no malicious intent. I really hope she gets her feathers back too. Did it hurt when Edward pulled them out, I wonder? Will she reveal herself to them? Surely her scent will give her away? I hope she gives them all an earful for treating her like some Disney ride. That's just not kosher. Thanks so much for sharing your story, really liking it so far!

Summary:

Summary: When I first caught her scent, I turned my wanting into hate. Later, as my cold yet sparkling hand touched her warm flesh, sunlight streamed through the trees making her skin glow as golden as the sun. Bella was an immortal. It was the day that secrets were spilled and lives changed forever. I had at last found a reason for my eternal life, someone who understood my pain.

I just found your story today, and I always enjoy stories in which Bella is something other. The possibilities just open up for all sorts of mayhem and changes to canon. I really like how you've changed things around where Bella's touch is somehow making Edward human? Well, we will see. I gotta admit, the mind boggles at what Bella would have to do to turn him completely human. *grin*. The idea doesn't bother me one bit, I'll tell you that much.

Author's Response:

I'm so happy to hear that you are enjoy the story so far. This story was one of my many what if's. There is a lot that we will learn about Bella as this story continues. To tell you any thing more would be to give it all away. I do hope you continue to read and review, but most importantly I hope you enjoy every minute of it.

I like this, I really absolutely hated not having Edward's POV on several things in BD.  I love how hard he fought for her.  The only part that I felt was jarring and kind of took me out of the "mood" of the story was when Edward said he felt and (kind of implied) heard her soul being ripped from heaven.  I just didn't like that part very much.  I would rather have seen it where he felt her soul coming back to him.  Then he could have gone on about having ripped her from her place in heaven to have her here by his side, etc.  Do you see what I mean?  It's one thing to have us accept and believe that Edward could feel her soul leaving his, and his heart trying to follow, but it's another altogether for us to have to accept that he felt her in heaven, if that makes sense?  Not sure.  It's kind of a fine point, I know.  I'm just that way.  :)

Thanks for writing!

I really like the idea of a bad Bella who genuinely can't help it. I mean, she is the devil's offspring. I like that she can stand up to the vampires like that, apparently their intimidation tactics don't work on her. I wonder what kind of gifts she has? Obviously she's immortal, but what else I wonder? Interesting start, thanks for sharing.

Author's Response:

You will be seeing Bella's powers starting in chapter three.  She's just a wittle baby demon at the moment so even she isn't sure what all she's capable of yet.  I'm actually looking forward to exploring that side of her character and mapping out what exactly she can and cannot do.

Just found this story, and it's intriguing to see such a hardened Bella.  So different from the norm, and this is definitely a Bella that doesn't seem interested in changing anytime soon.  I like that!  I also love that you made Rosalie the person she seems to be the most friendly with, even if it is somewhat calculated.  You've really turned the typical cliches on their heads.

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks so much! I really enjoy taking everybody out of their normal character so I'm glad you like it what I've done.

Bella's gift is cool.  I really like how hardened and cynical she is, it's so refreshing to see her this OOC and not changing rapidly from it from the magical influence of the Cullens.  She must have been very important to the wars with her gift though.  I like how you made it that all vampires have a gift, just that some are more subtle than others.  That totally makes sense.

Thanks for the update!

Author's Response:

I know what you mean! I love stories when either Bella or Edward are fucked up but hate when all of sudden they get all happy and cured two days after meeting one another. That is definitely not how things work. Thanks so much for reviewing!

This is going to sound so weird but I actually really liked seeing them argue. It was refreshing. I loved that Rosalie and Bella are close, too. I liked the explanation too. With s few simple sentences you suddenly made Rosalie make sense to me. I've never liked her but I admit I never understood her either.

Thanks for the update!

Author's Response:

Thanks so much! I'm glad that I could make you understand Rosalie, in this story at least. She'll have a bigger role in my story and I don't know how well that would work out if everyone still hated her. I don't think it's weird at all that you liked the arguing. I enjoyed writing so it's reall good that you liked reading it!

Oh, this made me sad and excited at the same time.  I thought Bella was schizo, the way her brain was going back and forth like that.  Didn't know what to think.  So she stood Mike up, right?  Well, better stood up than drained.

Yeah, I'm confused and I was afraid I was just forgetting important pieces of the story.  Thanks for the AN.  Now I know it's not me at fault, it's YOU!  *grin*

I love how Rosalie helped out Edward like that.  She's really blossoming now that there is a need for her.  I really like that a lot.  I always felt that in the books, it was a shame there was no outlet for the love she had the potential of giving to those who need it.  Not talking about Emmett, she has more of a caretaker love, like Esme, but different too.

Thanks for the update!

Author's Response:

Lol it is me! Bella will keep reveal bits and pieces of her life throughout the story until everything is out in the open. Hopefully I can pull that off, well. Rosalie was always one of my favorite characters in the book and I felt like we should have gotten more from her, so I made that happen here. Thanks for reviewing!

Wait, was it supposed to end there with "Alice thought."?  That was weird.

Poor Bella, she feels hideous with all the scars.  I feel bad for her too.  Women are very much tied to their physical appearance, after all.  Sad but true.  I am curious as to what Carlisle thinks of her?  We've kind of heard from all the "children", and Esme, but Carlisle's been very quiet.  And absent.  Her talent is very useful for Edward, no doubt about that.  It seems like it would be extremely useful for Jasper too, in overwhelming situations.  Of course he'd probably freak.

Thanks for the update!

Author's Response:

I don't what happened with the end of the chapter. I just went back and edited it because I definitely didn't put those last few lines in there. Yea Bella has big issues with scars, especially now since she's in a house with three other women who are basically flawless. I'll admit that we won't get a lot of Carlisle in this story but he will make an appearance within the next few chapters. Thanks so much for reviewing!

I missed a chapter, so I'm just now caught up.  Edward better realize the uphill battle he's got.  It's really a shame that he didn't hear what Bella said to her victim.  It would have cleared up a lot for him, I think.  However, we've got the blind leading the blind here.  Edward doesn't believe he has a soul, and he thinks he's a monster too.  So how can he possibly convince Bella that she doesn't deserve to feel guilt and all that for herself?  Especially when she wants to be punished for her sins?  It's really piquing my curiosity, her supposed mate.  I am beginning to wonder if she was brainwashed into believing he is her mate in some form or fashion.  I also think that Esme has been a bigger help for her than I had realized.  Rosalie seems to have stepped down from her role with Bella, surprisingly.  I thought they would become even closer, but it seems not.  It's nice to see Edward fighting for Bella, doing what he can to help her and get closer to her.

Thanks for the update!

Author's Response:

I debated for a long time on whether or not Edward should have heard what Bella said or not. Obviously I went with not but decided to let the readers know. Edward will eventually find out what she says later on in a conversation between them. Convincing Bella she doesn't deserve to feel guilt will be very hard and more than just Edward will be involved. Rosalie makes a return in the next chapter and she definitely hasn't taken a step back from Bella. I wanted the relationship between Bella and Esme to grow because Esme will be just as important in healing Bella as Rosalie, maybe even more important. Bella finds it easier to be around Esme because she doesn't feel threatened by her in any way. Bella is easy around Rosalie because she knows if need be can manipulate Rosalie to her own advantage and their peronalities are very similiar. Thanks so much for reviewing!

Surely Lucas brainwashed Bella, because everything he did was so twisted up it's just... wow.  Poor Bella.  I'm sure Edward must have overheard all that, it must have been so difficult for him.  Rosalie and Bella have so much in common in this fic, it's just sad.

Thanks for the update!

Author's Response:

It was really awful for Edward to have to see what Bella went through, through her memories and I wasn't going to make him at first but in the end I decided it would give him some better understanding. And make for good angst ;) Yea, Lucas was a very evil man. smh. Thanks so much for reviewing!

I'm so glad to see Bella go hunting with Edward!  The events afterwards was sad, I'm glad that she spoke with Rosalie about it.  It's heartbreaking what her brain has been conditioned to, because of all the abuse and brainwashing. This must be difficult for Rosalie, too, dealing with this.  It may also help in some weird way though, because as awful as Rosalie's experience was, it's still not as bad as Bella's.  It kind of puts things into perspective, you know?  Not trying to minimize what Rosalie went through or anything, but there's always something worse.

Thanks for the update!

Just a small mistake-Edward kissed her forehead, not her cheek earlier.

So why do they have to go home now when their guests won't arrive until tomorrow? Does Edward have to clean his room or something? Lol

I wonder what happened to Bree? It sounds like she genuinely tried her best to protect Bella.

See how they feel about their newest member. Oh, I know Bella isn't an innocent but I don't think she deserved whatever they did.
