Scilla, you old PattinAngel! I love this! Finally got around to starting your story and had to stop after 2 chapters to tell you that you are singing my song! I too am "old enough to be his teenage mother" by 17 years, and am a green-eyed brunette. So I'm definitely hanging out to find out what happens next. I know from RAoR I'm in for a treat. Yikes, if I leave a longer review will you tell us about meeting Rob??? truthfully, I could go on forever about the horsebackriding scene, because that was like every girl's dream come true. But I really liked that Rob stood up for himself. And I gotta give Marisa credit for being honest about her age.
My daughter met Rob this summer when he was in NY filming RM. She's 20, lives and goes to school in the city. She lives downtown, and when he first came, he was stayoing in the Bowery Hotel. She and a girlfriend went to the bar there for drinks, and as they were leaving, a black town car pulled up and out jumped Rob. They said hello quietly, and were smart enough not to pullout any phones, and he stopped to talk to them for a minute. Needless to say, my daughter was on cloud 9. Her two comments were (1) he's really tall, and (2) the accent is really sexy.
Author's Response: That's so cool that your daughter met him. In person, he is gorgeous of course, but he seemed really shy and unassuming and definitely acted like he had no clue why anyone wants him. He seemed really, really young, which I know he is, but still it became glaringly apparent and almost shot my writing this story to Hell LOL, but I got over it and will continue to write sexy stuff involving Rob. Anyway, he's adorable.

I love this!! I love your main character, Marisa, and you've got Rob down perfectly. Marisa's internal dialogue is terrific, and I LOVE that she's older, but still young enough that this kind of attraction still makes sense. I'm an older reader (early fifties) and I have to say that 46 is about the oldest I could possibly imagine even the greatest looking gal to be able to make Rob smolder. Any older than 46 and it's going to be hard to make believable to me. As gorgeous as Rob is, I'm way older than his mum. Ewww. I'll just admire from afar.
I wonder how old the women will be in Bon Ami? UmaThurmond and Kristen Scott Thomas are in the early forties, I think.

Another excellent chapter. It reads just like a book. It reminds me of when I read the Green Mile. Remember? It came out chapter by chapter. We all waited feverishly for the next installment...feels like the same thing here!

Author's Response: LOL, it's the kind that doesn't have that huge knob on the top but it's thin and more uniform in shape all the way through. Just like men, they come in all shapes and sizes :).

scilla---you're building in all the Rob details, but i wish you could embed the characters more---have the feeling Rob & Marisa are in some kind of a bubble which is a bit unlikely even in a very generously sized italian landhouse where his BF Tom & a desperately-want-to-make-out-with-RP Laura are running around---also would like to know more about the other characters M. la mer, their gay friend, the host & hostess---Lucia was telling them stories about past scenes in the car & i wished we could have listened in to her tales---lemons taste best when they're on a real tree in a real garden---now it's off to the races (& RP on a horse?)---<3

scilla---thanks for the invitation---it's brunello here---you have the NM triangle in reverse---with roughly the same dynamic---interesting twist---also interesting that RP's blue eyes have morphed into blue/green in the subsequent chapters (prob. had some flack from the Robsessed who swear by green)---the tripping scene got to me bigtime (many moons ago i took my BH to an overgrown graveyard where i stumbled & fell against his chest---déjà vue---i knew at that moment that i would spend my life with him---had only to convince him)---so on to the next chapter & further slow buildup---slow & easy is my mantra---<3
Author's Response: I've always thought Rob's eyes looked blue/green until I met him and saw that they were actually blue. But the reason I kept them blue/green in the story wasn't 'cause of RAoR but because that's the way Marisa sees them.
