I couldn't wait for this chapter. I didn't think Rob would give in to Summit, but God knows the boy can bugger things up sometimes. Jen was just awesome with holding her ground against both of the suits from Summit. Especially the President. She showed that she is a force to be reckoned with. She is growing a pair for sure!
It was nice that they finally had some time in the public eye, but not so much that it was overwhelming for either of them. It was the perfect way to do it. I imagine Rob was beaming having her on his arm.
It was probably for the best that Jen was late for The View taping. Given the state her hormones are in at this time of the month, if she had seen Rob's junk walking on stage before him, she probably would have attacked him. Who could blame her? *Cue the angels singing over that gray suit...*
Rob is a smart man for sure, but I fear we haven't heard the last of the bruises, and I don't think whoever was responsible for the Summit Mafia debacle is going to back down that easily.
I will feel a lot better once they are back home in London.
You made my night with this great chapter, as usual.

Great Chapter! I was so glad to see Rob stand tall for his girl and I can't wait to see his POV in OTT for this chapter - I'm sure a lot went on with him the next morning that Jen has no idea about. Angry, dangerous Rob, yum! I'm excited you have created the possibility for Leah to appear again and I'm curious to read what role she plays in their future; her loyalty, feistiness, and "in" with the internet fan base may lend well to helping them out when the publicity-crap hits the proverbial fan.
Oh, and that shower dialogue...equal parts hot and sweet.
It makes my day when I see an update for either this story or OTT. You have so many fans who truly appreciate that you make time to update both so regularly... *blows big kiss your way* MWAH!

I am new at fan fiction and have never commented before. I have to say this story is excellent, exciting, funny, sexy and as Rob would say...brilliant. I have read until 2:30 a.m. a couple of nights to catch up and then was so sorry I had read all the available chapters. I am also reading the companion piece, On The Threshold, which makes this story even more special.

This will be VERY interesting from Rob's pov. Poor Jen, what a freaking nightmare. Are these two ever going to get a break? It is just one thing after another for them. Curious to see how Summit is going to handle things. Sounds like the managed to get out of NY without much press. Glad they are going back to London.

I have to say, I was surprised that you went there. I'm not sure how many women can't help feel at least a little dirty at that time. I've not met many men that are not put off by that, but then we are talking about Rob. Are you sure he wasn't channelling a bit of Edward there?
I like how Nick is redeeming himself. Rob and Jen are going to need all the help they can get once they fully come out. They've got a good bunch of friends.
I'm glad you ended this chapter on a peaceful note. My nails will have a chance to grow back before you pull the rug out again.

Author's Response: Thanks hun. I was expecting a lot more comments about it to be honest. It is a difficult time for a woman to feel amorous for sure, and we are so talking about Rob! LOL! of course i think Real Rob would be weird about it i think... lol! But it was important for both of them to feel that nothing. absolutely nothing could come between them... not even biology.
Nick will be a great help. and with him seeing Jen in this stronger light, he will find her a great ally when it is needed. oh i have plans!

No I did not think that Rob handled Jen's bruises in a casual manner at all. I figured that Mack was somehow responsible for the police being called and for Mr. Reinholdt being notified. What I am really curious about is did Mr. Reinholdt authorize the 2 mil that was offered to Jen? If not him, then who? Would Spence really be able to do that without the okay from someone above him?
Oh yeah, our boyfriend *smile* is smart. He knew better than to involve him in this mess. It does offer them more privacy this way. And no, I think Jen has a full handle on just how upset Rob was and that is why she flew out of the bathroom. She thought, and I thought that he would go find Spencer and beat the everlovin' shit out of him like he so richly deserved! Thank goodness for the levelheadedness of Mack.
And Nick? Okay, I forgive him!! That man is definitely making up for his wrongs!!!!

Not too big on reviewing but I have spent the last 2 days reading this entire story and loving it! I didn't think I would like it, it was my first RL Rob fic. The emotions, the craziness, the believability! I am loving it. I was disappointed in one thing...it wasn't finished when I found it! LOL! Now I have to wait for updates *sigh*. I was so mad when I read chapter 67. I totally thought Rob was gonna flake out when he introduced Jen. I wanted to punch "fake" Rob. Then I get the update today and it was so fangirl of me, but I sighed...out loud after a few sentences!!! YAY! Keep up the great work, I had guessed she was preggo and I was excited for it but I loved the story line, the surprises you have intertwined. Can't wait for the next update... (sorry this is so long)

I'm still recuperating from the above, but I'll try to give you my thoughts. As you know, I got to the point where he introduced her as the love of his life and had to take to Twitter to express my overwhelming need to ply you with alcohol in gratitude! I loved Loved LOVED the fact that he handled everything back at the hotel with such calm. It was what Jen needed, absolutely. I wasn't upset in the least to not see him tearing around like a madman. She needed his love and his quiet strength. She needed to be soothed, and he came through. He was her MAN. It was beautiful.
I'm so sad that Jen missed the Daily Show...I love me some Jon Stewart. The best moment of that interview "So, do you dabble in music because you were afraid you wouldn't get laid enough?" *Tears* I personally wouldn't mind a little outtake RPOV of the interviews that day...you know, when you have 63 seconds to spare!
Awesome as always Steph. You take it to new heights with each chapter!

But they really didn't step out! Still! only to like 6 people. And hiding again at the airport.. sigh.. When I saw Rob be strong I was sooo happy, but then as the chap went on to there being no one there I admit to being so disappointed. :( I really, really hope to see headlines. I am inmpressed with her standing up and pressing charges and talking back to the Scummit Pres.. liked that a lot.
Author's Response: I'm sorry you were disappointed my dear. It's a small step, and to be honest, had Jen rested up more the night before, she probably would have strode alongside Rob in the airport. But there is still discretion to be had. Can you imagine if the first press photos of them as a couple to hit the internet (let's say Robsessed or Pop Sugar) is of two tired and worn people, one being a complete and utter stranger....
"OMG WHO IS SHE!?"
"ROB DUMPS KRISTEN FOR THIS?!"
or something of that degree... but yes, they need a bigger outting... in a controlled environment ( another premier perhaps?)

God, I hope that you are not burning the candle at both ends, just to get something posted for us. I mean, I was dying to know what Rob was going to say from the last chapter, as much as anyone else, but I wouldn't want you to lose needed sleep to survive your real life. I'm just saying...
Anyway, I've been holding off reviewing lately because I wanted to see how this scene was going to play out before saying anything. I guess my review is on the whole NYC trip, not just this chapter.
First, I would like to think that there aren't people like the ones portrayed from Summit in this story, really out there in the business. I know that I am naive thinking that, but with the internet, the movie moguls and producers don't have much control over what's being seen by fans and the paps, like they used to. I mean back in the day, Rock Hudson couldn't be gay, and Judy Garland was hooked on diet pills and alcohol because of their movie contracts. My DH thinks that the guy from High School musical and his relationship with his costar is just hoax, because he is probably gay. LOL I do think that Jen did well and held her own, against the Summit beast. Your comment at the top, about "not screwing with" our boy is exactly what I've been thinking all along.
I also thought that Rob handled Jen's bruises as well as could be expected. I know that my man would have flew out the door if I hadn't stopped him, and having Mike remind Rob if where he was really needed, was well played, dear. Like Jen, I would not have fallen for the, "I just need a smoke" line either.
On to Rob's wardrobe, I too noticed the tear in his sleeve during the Today show interview, and thought that maybe he did the "Bothered" scene with Jimmy Fallon first, and tore it getting down from the tree. :) I loved that Rob can make fun of himself like that, and heart his comedic timing. OMFG, the light gray suit, ***whimpering***waking up to see him in that, would have killed me dead. I loved him in that. I have many pics of him in that suit. It just fit him so well. God Bless that tailor. ***fanning self***
Lastly, I understand his family's concern about Jen's safety with regards to what will be leaked about her, from Summit, but backpedalling just doesn't seem right either. Waiting to see what happens next before saying anymore about that.
Oh, I read the first couple of paragraphs of this chapter at least three times before moving on, just hear Rob say it again in my mind one more time. ***happy sigh***
If you can't tell by now, I think that your story is amazing...

But then there is this burning need to get this outta my head, it's almost like a compulsion. it makes me smile though to see the love and affection that you all have for this story (and maybe a little me...) so thank you for the concern, and i mean that with warm welcoming hugs to you. it means a lot to know that you guys care.
ok... so the chapters. this whole trip was difficult. maybe because early on, Jen was supposed to stay home to take care of Mr. P. But RobJen headlocked me and told me they would not be separated again.... sigh... and i agree with them... And they both wanted to just step out... sigh.... and I agree... but Summit...
Yes, I think this is the extreme vision of a company. Especially when you see celebrities (I'm not mentioning names.... Lindsay, Britney, Mel) make such asses of themselves.... why would Summit strong arm Rob, a charismatic and genuine soul.
MONEY.
and publicity. but this is definitely an extreme and poetic license thing. I can see the company having concerns about their relationship, but certainly not holding her hostage.
So glad you liked Rob's reaction. He is really upset, but it takes a man with a wife ( love my Mack- i have a great outtake with his wife written) to make Rob see that Jen is more important.

The backpedalling will be an issue, absolutely. they need to hold true to one decision. we'll see if Big man or something else hinders that. the nice thing is that now that they are in London, things are a lot more private there, even in public. How much did we really see Rob while on Bel Ami... hehehe

your personal note really brought me to tears. thank you for that, truly. it takes a lot to do this. and if it weren't for the love of you all, I probably wouldn't be here. And Jen and Rob would have had a very short life. But you all pour your hearts out as i do, and for that I am so grateful. I have "met" some truly spectacular people, and i can only hope that maybe this crazy little story has made a difference in people's lives. Where to start? First let me say that the last chapter had me really nervous...but I should never lose faith in you. You brought out the Rob we all know and love--the one who loves Jen more than life itself and he stood up for her. I was bouncing in my seat and crying when he introduced her as the love of his life. Perfect.
I don't even know where to begin with the rest of it. So much happened in this chapter. So much stress and angst. So much to deal with. But it all boiled down to the fact that Rob and Jen are committed to each other and to their relationship and NO ONE is going to get in the way of that.
This chapter was well worth the wait!!!!! (But please don't keep us waiting that long again! It's been torture! Just ask my hubby. I've wailed and complained all week---longing for an update!)

I. LOVE. THIS. STORY.
I love how strong Jen has become, taking on Scummit and instead of looking to Rob to comfort her; making sure she does what is best for him. I wish I could see this as a movie, it is so clear in my head. Of course Rob would play himself. Who would you like to see play Jen? I know you have mentioned Sandra Bullock but are there any others?

rachel Weisz has been my newest Jen... especially the fighter. she scrappy, and has an intensity about her that i love. and is a little more in the age range.

It's good to see strong Jen back! I don't know why they don't just call up People Mag and have a sit down interview with them where they get it all out in the open. I adore Rob and want to see him happy, and I'd like to think that that's what most of his fans think.

Thank god. He stood up to the Summit honchos. He obviously seems more happy with open affection while out so how long till the press catch on, it is definitely time for everything to be out in the open. I believe it would be detrimental to their relationship at this stage to continue with the secrecy. Jen needs to feel that he is proud of her and willing to stand by her no matter what the press throw at them and it looks like he may be heading that way now. I know he has long said that he wants to more open with their relationship but actions speak louder that words and up till now he has had no follow through. Not meaning to be down on the man as I know circumstances have overtaken them and overshadowed things but I think they are both ready now. Maybe the British press would be the best ones to come out to, while they are known to crucify many a celebrity in the cruelest fashion they certainly love Rob.
Christ almighty am I getting too involved in this story again. Well you write so well Steph and I think because you are following real timelines and real events you are able to make us feel as if it is could be real and it makes us care so much for the characters involved, the ficticious ones and the depictions of real life people.

Author's Response: thank god indeed! LOL! I agree with the need to move on. hiding just looks like a dirty secret, and we have seen what that has done with Rob and Kristen. Being in London will be great for them. because, really? how much of rob did we really see in public while he was on Bel Ami? hehehe
They will be able to step out on home territory much easier than anywhere else. Unless something comes up (big man?o.o....)
i love that you are so involved... it gives me a warm feeling knowing that RobJen can have that affect. and for our hope for Rob to find happiness.
