Even though he saved her life, if I was her, I'd be a little leary of taking a ride to an unknown place, in the dark, without even an explanation of where we were going. She is a police chiefs daughter....ya know. The first rule about not being accosted is, don't be there. Maybe it would have been a bit better if they got to know a little more about each other, just a little more of an ice breaker.
Nah!, it was hot anyways.

The conflict you have woven with the belief in God at the center is most intriguing. I like the part "He had said he’d been born of parents in Chicago; that reassured me because I knew then that he at least had been born as a child of God." I had never thought of it that way before. It roots the vampires in humanity, even if they don't believe in it anymore.

Ya, certainly sounds like love to me too! If he wants her alive more than dead, what will want him to change her?
Will the inability to have children be a crucial factor or not? Does Carlisle know about her abortion and infections? I don't think it will matter to Edward, but would he consider her 'damaged goods'? Will she?
Another wonderful chapter by you and your betas...Bravo girls, bravo...

“Would you like me to?” “Yes,” she confirmed and my heart soared. “I’d like that very much.” UNGH!!! Oh, lady, that is so rich, it's too hot for words! Ohhhh, Edddwwwaaarrrrddd.....I've got a big cut tooooo. Can YOU help me with it????? LOL
So then I guess the police can figure out how the third guy 'lost his head' before he died, but not the two who were drained of blood. RRRiiiiiiight!
"Let me help with that." EVERYONE.....ATTENTION......THIS is the new sexiest line ever!!! Yay, the crowd goes wild!!!!! Lady Duskwatcher is surrounded by hundreds of well-wishers as they go wild at the decision.....

Absolutely breathtaking! I have been obsessively checking for your updates as I adore this story. Your writing is exquisite. I like this better than the original (sacrilege!)-more depth and feeling without overdoing the sex (I'm tired of the stories of endless, hydraulic sex) without losing the romance. Keep writing, please!

Sheesh! Wasn't expecting him to actually lick her wounds! Kinda gross, yet kinda erotic too... as evidenced by that other smell :) Interesting way to start a relationship - 'so I've seen you naked and licked an open cut on your body, wanna go out?' Huh... not so much! I guess we'll see what happens!

Ha! Good for him! He can do t, I know he can!
I can't remember... I think another author rec'd you, but I couldn't say who. I am glad I looked you up though :) I like what I'm reading so far. I look forward to when Edward finally gives in a little and tries to connect with Bella.

Wow... He is so conflicted! And man, if I dropped to my knees after every time I did that with thoughts of Edward or Rob himself, I'd have permanent bruises! JK ;)

Roland Deschain turned into a bad guy. Made me smile anyway, to see one of my favorite names of all time in one of my new favorite stories.

I wonder if all no-good guys always have natty looking cars, pounding music and heavily tinted windows? - Ya, bad taste all around!
You'd think Bella would keep her mind with her and run back to the Starbucks store. I guess panic does that to you.
Yay, hero Edward, to the rescue! That will make an impression on Bella, for sure. Will it be enough???
Reviewer: antipyro (Signed) · Date: January 20, 2010 08:20 AM · On: Chapter 7 Apologies to Isabella
Ooo, Destiny! Edward usually has problems with that. So sad that the kidnapper/diddler killed those kids. I think maybe Edward, if he does it again, who am I kidding, of course he will, will try to make sure it works out. Maybe this is fate, the kids were supposed to die??? Horrible thought, but maybe true.
Tanya, love the 'seer' in her. At least she's being truthful to Edward, giving him good advice, and keeping it real (the chair was part of a set - LOL). At least she made Edward think of the things he was supposed to think about, not wallow in his past.
A round of thanks to your marvelous betas, Poo235 and hellacullen. Hip Hip Hooray!

Well, Bella did seem to warm up a little after talking with Edward! She seems to trust in his pledge to keep her safe and she seemed interested in his life. She still reads his face and can see he is a desperate man and that tugs on her heart. I wonder what morning will bring!

Ohhhh... Poor Bella. I do think her initial reactions here make all kinds of sense. I commend her sense of self-preservation and her anger. It's completely justified. I thought it was great that she made herself, allowed herself, to go talk to Edward. And that she DID talk to him and listen to him.
At least until he got too personal, and she pulled away. I don't blame her...but I feel for Edward, because it was another form of rejection, even if it's temporary and utterly understandable.
Your portrayal of him is haunting, here.

Where's Ray of Ray's Diner? Is Frank now the owner? Does Ethan ever get sick of meatloaf? LOL
Just the description of the baby made me go, Awwwww! ...and isn't Arlene just a quick witted sprite. With two teenage boys, she'd have to be quick on her feet and mind. She's well written - her compassion really shows through. Yeah, Father Brian's a Saint. Who wouldn't go to church with that kind of helping hand? I loved the line, "“There are many strange things in the world, Bella. God has many mysteries to reveal,” he said, turning onto Madison Street. “But I need to caution you; be sure that what you see is truly from God.”"
Marvellous!

This amazing fic was highly recommended by none other than Ms. Bond. I'm reading her fantastic fics (Becoming Bella and Double en Tundra), and upon reading on her homepage that this was the ONLY Favourite story she had listed, well, I couldn't resist. That and the absolutely terrific banners for this fic by HellaCullen, n7of9, and readergoof. It took me just a few lines into your story to get hooked. I just love your imagination, which your Betas help you with all the time. Some of the best writing I've seen.
I usually go to one of my fave authors site and see what they like. Occasionally, they refer to another, unknown to me, author. It's like surfing.

And thank you for updating regularly!!!!
Reviewer: antipyro (Signed) · Date: January 19, 2010 08:54 PM · On: Chapter 4 Before God
I guess you'll get to the two friends she lost - eh? Ya, ya, I'll be patient!
So this is what Bella's trying to get over - Huh! Was she living in Forks with her Dad then? This solves one problem with her turning into a vampire. Who did the abortion? Wouldn't that be more of a concern to her, being all Christian and churchy? The sanctity of life is a much bigger sin than say, pleasuring yourself. That would mean the both her and Edward had 'killed' a person; both sinners; both undecided on their next move; unable to repent, to cleanse their souls. Jake too, not wanting to pass on his genes to his progeny, all to escape the 'horrors' of his change.
So good of a chapter, so many lovely details, so much stuff happening in this one!

Just from the Chapter Quote - I was laughing. Not that it was a joke, but the re-iteration to Emmett, like it was a joke. What a turbulent chapter. All those emotions, to paraphrase Ron Weasley, how could a person feel all that, they'd explode! LOL
The Dark Edward, well, it doesn't seem that dark to me, but I get you, is extremely flexible to manipulate. Should I?.....Shouldn't I? "To do what still wasn't clear, to kill her, to kiss her, to turn her, to… I couldn’t even crystallize the need in my mind. The only thing I couldn't do was walk away from her. We passed Sappho and were just ten minutes from home when it became unbearable." Come on Edward, you can do it....just try......we're all praying for you, just like Bella.

I love this introduction to Bella. It's a little different, but seemingly real. Thank you for not putting them in high school. This story seems to be much more mature than some I've read, not that that's a bad thing...... js
Loved Bellas definition of Edward as an Angel. It seemed a perfect fit - really, except for no wings. Maybe that's just a function of romantic painters. LOL
The interaction between Bella and Edward - priceless!
Magnificent work!
