Author's Response: Almost losing him, permanently, definitely was a jolt to her system. Even when he was out of her life physically, she always knew he was still in the world and that was enough... then.

Can understand Bella's feelings completely, and know how torn up Edward would be after things were explained to him. I feel so sorry for both of them.
Author's Response: They both made some collosal mistakes, but they really aren't that unlikely being that the two of them relied so deeply on each other and that security was ripped away.

WHOA! Holy hell cowboy! Even I don't think Bella's capable of what he accused her of, and deep down, Edward knows it too. But damn, his words were spiteful and cut to the core... Just as he was by seeing Bella that way.
Author's Response: Edward had a LOT riding on that night and he didn't think in the LEAST before he lashed out at her. Those words were meant to hurt her (you'll find out later how true his aim was) and nothing more. He knew there was no truth to them.
