I just wanted to clarify that I meant that the beginning of the chapter dragged, but in aq good way, because it sucked you in and that was necessary like you said so it didn't feel hokey. Some author's just get carried away with themselves and lose sight of the point they're trying to make come across, and you get lost in their overly discriptive jumble, but I think you dragged it just perfectly so it dragged, but not so much that someone could get lost. I think like I said this is a good showcase of how good you are at writing, this is professional stuff, hopefully one day you might be able to use it for a portfolio.

Ha! I kinda figured it wouldn't be done by my birthday, but that's okay, life happens. I am excited to read your one shot, I'm starting to get really curious what it's about, I've been online for short little stints usually only once a week lately, but I knew you would reply back to my review like the reliably awesome author you are! and I love discussing this story with you.

I like how you've made everyone so uneasy with Vanessa, but I guess I'm more of the person to look at the bigger picture. I want to point out that Bella is full out trusting this lady and I don't know that I'd be so quick to do so. Jacob seems rash and childish at time, but I think that's what makes him a good character, because it makes him the right kind of cautious/protective. Edward is just so overly protective at times that it really irked me throughout the series, how many times had Bella missed out on a good opportunity because of him? I think Jacob has the right idea supporting Bella, but remaining cautiously at her side. This is where I ship more J/B then E/B because Edward reminds me of a father figure, he knows she's sort of ignorant so he holds her back. Jacob knows it too, but he is too, so sometimes he's totally with her, and other times he's as careful with her as Edward is, but it comes out right in the end. Eh....got a little side tracked.

I'm going to make a prediction, that they're not going to let on any of this happens when it comes to the cullens, I'm usually wrong about these things, I can see a huge disconnect coming along. In the end it's probably going to bite everyone in the ass.

Can we shoot for two weeks max for an update? Pretty pleeeeeeeeeaaaaasssseeeeee. :)

Oh, the word "portfolio" frightens me.  In a good way. :)

It's sad, because I really did have every inention of having the story finished by the middle of this month, but I figure there are about four chapters left, and that's not gonna happen in two weeks. *sigh* Oh, and "Thunder Cake" got validated about twenty minutes ago, if you're still interested in reading.

lol. Yes Bella and Jacob are both a little ignorant but to different things, I think.  Bella's pretty oblivious to how other peope see things because she's got a major case of tunnel vision.  Jacob understands how people feel and why they feel that way but he doesn't really know how to communicate that understanding very well.  In this instance, Bella's attraction to Vanessa stems from something a little more supernatural.  You could say she's a little "bewitched." ;)

I see your prediction and am going to wisely remain silent.

Definitely shooting for an update sooner than two weeks. :)

 

I'm confused but i like it. I love Leah, she is hands down my favorite character in this story, Quil and Embry are close, but Leah is the best.

I have to agree that Leah is a pretty rockin' person.  Secondary characters usually get to be much more colorful than the primary ones because we only get them in small doses so its okay if they're extreme one way or the other. Same goes for Quil and Embry, the dynamic duo.

I love Vanessa's character.  She is very easy to picture through Bella's descriptions of her movements and inflections of language.  So glad Jacob was here for this.  It will help validate Bella's experience and knowledge of the situation when it comes time for the others to become involved.  Edward doesn't always give Bella the credit she is due.  He constantly questions her interpretations of events (possibly because he can't read her mind and is unsure how accurate the information is).  Can't wait for an update, very curious about the next turn of events.  By the way! I have read the one shot "Thundercake".  I was not dissapointed!  You are a wonderful writer with a unique perspective on life, and it shows in the intelligence of your stories.

Yeah, I'm sure Bella will be glad to have Jacob in her court when it comes to explaining things to the others.  Somehow I don't imagine Vanessa wanting to kick back and talk with the Cullens. She doesn't seem very fond of vampires.

There's nothing wrong with admiring/cheering for a book character, no matter what you're age. Aint nothing but a number, baby. ;)

I'm curious about vanessa...I feel like she could kinda go either way: the kind but stern teacher or the uncaring, boardering-on-cruel experienced one. I'm  interested to see which way she'll end up. I have been very interested in this story since I first found it-such a unique concept!

 

Also, thundercake is the name of a children's book, did you know? Does your one-shot have anything to do with it? I'll probably read it just to find out ;).

You are spot on about Vanessa. She's an intense person who has very strong opinions.  And by the end of the story, I'm sure your opinion of her will be more solidified one way or the other.

At the risk of you now not going to read the story...Yes, the book is a part of the one-shot. It's a sort of premise/vehicle for concept of the story. I'll be looking forward to hearing what you think of its inclusion in this kind of format.

Can I cash my gold stars in for an update by June 6th? :) So I got going on right now, I'll have to cut this review a little short. MAN I say 'are you shitting me' all the time lol, we would probably be bff's in real life lmao. So Really, I loved the interception by Jacob, it was like one of those moments  where you're so into the story you don't even think twice about that even happening, it's like you're the main character and you're totally wrapped into what they're wrapped into at the time. I love it when you write like this, it's like the perfect showcase of your talent that you're so able to captivate readers in this way. I guess next I have half compliment you half berrate you for dragging us along in the beginning of this chapter, I was just like on the edge, I'm like COME ON get to the point, but it was so necessary, because obviously things are never quite to the point, so kudos.

I can't pass judgement on Vanessa yet, but I think you're developing her well. You're introduction of her is pretty coinciding with the way you've been writing her so I think you're doing great at inventing her so far. Bella's said she was like this and that, and you're making her like this and that without having to clarify that's what she's like all over again. So I'm excited for you to write more of her, because it feels like a real character for this series and not just some OC you made up because you were itching too. Second kudos.

Okay and last THIS is so a cliffhanger, and I think you owe my exceptional patience a quick update so I'm just going to be the spoiled reader I am and guilt trip you into writing. Do it, do you know how painful it was for me to wait for a month update. GEEZ you were killing me. I died a little. Anyway, this was a good one, I like how you wrote Aro into the memory, and played him into all of this. I'm so excited for the end of this story, it's bittersweet, but I have a feeling it's going to be good. Thanks for giving us Jacob back this chapter ;)

Hehe, I'm so guilty of sticking my own colloquialisms into this story. Leah and Jacob are my most common victims.

I agree about the first part of the chapter dragging. And it took me forever to write. I think it's because I really, really don't want this to come off as hokey, so I was trying to get the reader in sync with how Bella was feeling about things at the start so they could be just as unsuspecting and just as helplessly pulled along as she is. But maybe it was too much. Lesson learned for next time.

Oh, Vanessa, how I love thee. I mentioned to someone else that she's a Morpheus/Giles/Hitler character, but we haven't really seen that last part yet. So, it's probably good to hold off judgment. But I'm glad you approve of her characterization so far.

Believe me, I want to update as quickly as possible. So much to be explained. And I hate waiting for updates just as much as you guys do, so I promise to do everything in my power to make the next chapter happen ASAP.

*sniffle* Yes, the ending is not far away, and I have mixed feelings about it. I want to be done so I can point and say, "Look, I have a complete multi-chaptered fic that I'm proud of." But at the same time, I'm so attached and don't want to watch it end. (I'm tricking myself into writing it by saying that I plan to do a sequal. lol.)

Bella and Edward are still completely in love with each other and I wonder if they are willing live their lives apart for too much longer and to what end?  

Is Bella going to have an extremely extended lifespan like Vanessa?

I was so happy to see a new chapter. Glad to hear that your finals went well. I really enjoy your story and like Vanessa....can't wait for the next one!
