I'm really enjoying this story. Loved how Edward reacted with anger after he saw Bella! Love the tension.

And a couple of quick questions, how is Bella's shield working to allow her to use other people's powers? I don't remember that from BD, so is that your own personal spin on what you think her shield can do? I know she can lift her shield to let people in, but how exactly is she able to hear Edward? Did I miss this somewhere else in your story?

I made quick work of getting a good hold on my shield.  It was a tangible part of me now, every bit as much a part of me as my arms and legs.  I could feel it and manipulate it.  Push it and pull it.  I could use it to protect others and myself from mental offences or displace it entirely to leave me raw and vulnerable.  Or, as I was doing with the human, I could reverse its polarity, turning it inside out like a thin, sticky jellyfish vacuum to draw into it anything that was near enough, allowing me to turn another vampire's gift around onto its possessor.  Very convenient at times, this little toy of mine. 

 

I dunno if I explained it clearly enough there, but basically Iadded something that she can do with her shield that wasnt in BD, she can flip it inside out reversing its polarity and drawing in any surronding "gifts" and use them only on the vampire who possess them - ie: read Edwards mind.  I just think that after having the shield for so long shes learning more capabilities with it, not like totally making it something SM didn't, just that the more she toys with it the more she discovers about it, sorta thing ;)

I'm glad Edward knows that she still wants him.  That's definitely good.  If they are going to work things out, he needs to understand how she feels, so he can fight for her.  Now he just needs to tell her the truth...and hoepfully bring her back to his family.

I just found this story!  I really am enjoying it!  I have no idea where it is going to lead, but I truly enjoy the fact that they ar still "Bella and Edward" even after so many years, and they still love each other madly, but don't know how exactly to get it out!  I am really hopin gyou keep this a light, sweet, and lemony story!

I am excited to read the next chapter!

I love that she can hear his thoughts when she lifts her shield.  Man, I was really hoping for a kiss at the end of this chapter.  We better get one in the next installment.  : )
