The bond between Carlisle  and Esme is truly the foundation of the Cullen family, their love and devotion is a wonderful example to all their children. I loved your story of their journey together, and have read most of your one-shots. Very good stuff, my dear! Thanks so much!

Author's Response:

Kathy, oh how you have been the shiny star in my day!  Thank you for spoiling me with you ample reviews and kind words!!  I love seeing the review count for this story go up -- I do hope it attracts more people to read it also.  I loved writing it so much (esp. when I finally got to the wedding and honeymoon -- now I know how SM must have felt with B&E!).  Again, I appreciate so much your willingness to review each chapter you read and I enjoyed reading how you felt about the chapters.  Thank you a million times over!

Blissful, the descriptive word of choice, for Carlisle and Esme's honeymoon, maybe perfect, too, if such a thing exists. It's so great that they have each other for always.

I must say you got them off to a wonderful start. The whole scene Carlisle set for their wedding night was incredibly romantic. He may be the world's oldest virgin, but he's certainly got good instincts!

A wedding should be a joyous occasion and heaven knows this one was! Those vows they wrote for each other were just beautiful. You did a lovely job there. It's so nice that Edward played the music for the ceremony, it was the icing on the cake. Now for Esme's thoughts for the honeymoon!

Reviewer: k1942 (Signed) · Date: April 19, 2011 08:10 AM · On: Flowers and Forever

Yes, I liked it very much. It was a lovely proposal and quite a resounding acceptance! Carlisle got a peek at the joys ahead and Esme is busily planning the wedding. Hopefully, Edward can put up with their thoughts!

It might have taken him several hundred years, but Carlisle has at long last found love, and like the smart man he is, he's not letting it slip away. The dance was lovely to read about and it must make him happy to know Edward approves of what's comming.

Well, it's all out in the open now so they can go forward, into their future. That headstone for Esme's little boy had a tear trickling, the poetry was beautiful. Such a loving gesture on Carlisle's part. Now things will be better for both of them , and Edward, too.

I just took time out to listen to your Carlisle and Esme playlist, it was lovely. even the Beyonce. The classics are that for a very good reason. Right you are, who doesn't love a happy ending? Of couse, we aren't nearly at the end, are we? However, progress is being made!

I'm glad that Esme didn't kill Charles, but I'm kind of glad she wanted to. He was a miserable excuse for a human being and he got justice, as far as I can see. His appearance sure opened the floodgates of Esme's memories, so that's not all bad, she needed to remember. What she doesn't need is to be away from Carlisle and Edward right now.

Reviewer: k1942 (Signed) · Date: April 19, 2011 06:45 AM · On: The Chase

Esme was having so much fun shopping and looking for a dress to impress Carlisle, it took her a while to notice she was being followed. As soon as she realized that, I just knew who it had to be. She is about to remember a whole lot about her past life, whether she wants to or not. Hopefully this confrontation will end well, as in she kills the son-of-a-bitch!

Reviewer: k1942 (Signed) · Date: April 19, 2011 06:30 AM · On: Secrets

Thanks to the care and concern of Carlisle and Edward, Esme is transitioning fairly well into her new life. Carlisle is meticulous in tying up loose ends, packing Esme's things and hiding her medical records. Let's hope she thanks him for his efforts. Had to laugh when Edward was forced to admit his gift, but dragged Carlisle down with him. They truly making a family together.

Reviewer: k1942 (Signed) · Date: April 19, 2011 06:15 AM · On: Transformation

Talk about tap dancing around the news! Carlisle took his sweet time getting to the heart of the matter, no pun intended. He sure was trying to cushion the blow for Esme. No wonder Edward told him to get on with it. It's going to be quite an adjustment for Esme, but I'm sure Carlisle's loving support will help.

Reviewer: k1942 (Signed) · Date: April 19, 2011 05:25 AM · On: Resurrection

It was quite the surprise for Carlisle to find Esme, broken and bleeding, needing help only he could provide. He will be horrified to learn what has happened to her in the intervening years. This is a time of equal sadness and joy. Esme has suffered so much and will undergo the agony of transformation, but it will lead to everlasting happiness with her forever love.

Thank God for the medical advances made in the years since the twenties! Poor Esme, she's fought so hard to keep her baby safe and lost him after all. The only comfort I can think of in this story, is that Carlisle is nearby, even if Esme does not yet know that.

Reviewer: k1942 (Signed) · Date: April 19, 2011 04:54 AM · On: Dr. Carlisle Cullen

Carlisle should just relax and realize that there is a plan for everything and Elisabeth Masen's plea is just a part of that. Just because he was longing for a companion doesn't negate the fact that it was the right thing to do, to save Edward. Then came the 'fun' of raising a teenager, and a vampire at that. It was touching that after a short while, Edward wanted to take Carlisle's name. Must have made him proud and happy.

Reviewer: k1942 (Signed) · Date: April 19, 2011 04:33 AM · On: Esme Anne Platt

What a miserable existence! How could Esme think this was what she deserved? Some big help her priest was, too, shame on him! I guess it took a really life-changing event to wake her up to what had to be done. Most mothers will do anything to protect their baby. Glad she remembered her Dr. Angel.

Reviewer: k1942 (Signed) · Date: April 19, 2011 04:19 AM · On: First Meeting

A brief meeting that would have repercussions later on down the road. Esme probably thought Dr. Cullen would never think of her through the years like she remembered him. Little did she know! Fast forward through the years!

Wow... so Esme came up with the Cullen family crest? Is that an official thing, or did you add it yourself for continuity to your story? Either way, it works... it seems a very 'Esme' thing to do.

I haven't written in quite a while, but i would like to let you know that you have just inspired me to write a little Carlisle/Esme ficlet... probably something very lemony and sweet.  Thanks for the inspiration.

I thoroughly enjoyed your fic.  :)  xoxox

Author's Response:

Bec, I have to say I am totally speechless!!  What you said about my writing means so much to me -- Do you remember me writing you reviews for Unwanted?  I was tot fangirl on you!  And I was just trying to remember your penname on Twi'd just last night for an interview I was asked to give.  The question in the interview was 'what is the first fanfic you read'.  I am pretty sure it was Unwanted, but I can say without a doubt, it was the first story I dropped everything for when an update appeared in my mailbox!  I am so excited and flattered that you enjoyed my C&E story (and will be mentioning Unwanted in my interview)!  C&E was the first fic I completed.

What was most fun with this story was filling in the empty spots -- having Esme introduce Edward to music, giving a history to Isle Esme (which is somewhat based in historical fact), and having Esme the creator of the Cullen Crest.

Thank you again for all your wonderful reviews and I certainly hope you get back to writing -- def PM when you do cuz I'd love to read and review.

That was beautiful... a perfect ending to an awesome story.

Reviewer: bloodredlust (Signed) · Date: February 06, 2011 09:12 PM · On: Flowers and Forever

Ahhh, i thought for a minute there you were going to have them 'go all the way' by the fire... and as much as i would LOVE to see that, my brain was screaming NOOOOO, because its not right... they would both want to wait til after the wedding.  Once again, you proved that you're on my wavelength.... thanks for that. :)

Reviewer: bloodredlust (Signed) · Date: February 06, 2011 08:57 PM · On: The Dance

Ok, call me slow, but i think i've just put my finger on why i'm so captivated with this story... it's because of the way you tell it: The characterisations, the mannerisms... they're not modern in this story... they actually seem to fit with the 1920's timeline... (or what i imagine the 1920's would have been like).   They are reserved, unassuming, polite and chivalrous in a way i have never seen discribed before... and i love it.  You really do the story justice.  I will certainly be looking up more of your stories after i've finished this one.  :)

Reviewer: bloodredlust (Signed) · Date: February 06, 2011 08:05 PM · On: The Chase

NO... Keep that bastard away from Esme!!  I would say 'i hope she kills him', but i wouldn't want her to spill any of his blood, she doesn't need to poison herself by taking any of his blood into herself.

LOL, where's Alice when we need her?

Reviewer: bloodredlust (Signed) · Date: February 06, 2011 07:52 PM · On: Secrets

Haha, i love how Edward didn't hesitate to blame the secrecy of his gift on Carlisle... i can even imagine his gorgeous playful grin as he revealed that!  :)

Beautifully written.  :)

My God, yes we have come a long way, haven't we?  My youngest daughter was born blue, she had heart complications and would have died if not for an emergency heart surgery at 2 days old, then a week later another open heart surgery.  The advances in medicine never cease to amaze me, and reading stories like this, although fictional, still remind me of what could have been, and how lucky i am.  Thankyou for giving Esme an honest, and compassionate voice in this chapter.  xoxox
