A lovely play on their names in naming the island---SM must have intended this little word play too---I never picked up on this until now! How clueless of me! LOL! What a passionate second honeymoon! Again, I loved the explanation of the coat of arms. I also imagined over the decades, each of the subsequent Cullen couples: Emmett/Rosalie, Jasper/Alice, arriving to enjoy Isle Esme----now, it's Edward and Bella's turn there! Without Esme's and Carlisle's love and influence as role models, perhaps Edward would have never realized his attraction, appreciation and love for Bella!! (Bella has Esme's same simple background.) Edward owes Carlisle and Esme a real debt towards his own happiness! Maybe you should send us forward in time and create Jacob and Renesmee's time there next and how they have Carlisle and Esme's and Bella and  Edward's love and influences to thank for it! Thanks for an exquisite beginning history of Esme and Carlisle!

Ohhhh! I cried, sighed and moaned with pleasure, joy, etc as I imagined Esme and Carlisle in that massive bathtub making each other the truest lovers for the first time!! I envisioned their hotel suite decor---the smells of roses in the bedroom, candles, champagne and ultimately---their special vampire scents (pine, cedar and roses,) of bodies in rapture! I think I could almost hear Carlisle speaking words of love in French, Italian and Spanish! I see in my mind and heart, both Young Kim's drawings and our actors, Peter Facinelli and Elizabeth Reaser as the reality Carlisle and Esme enjoying this sweet honeymoon!

Thanks for extending that pleasure! Esme and Carlisle so deserved to be happy and in rapture with each other! I swear I could envision that honeymoon suite lit with candlelight!!

Reviewer: Micm (Signed) · Date: February 17, 2012 09:01 PM · On: Plans, Prayers and Promises

What charming and selfless vows! Frankly, I thought you were going to have Edward play his famous composition written for Esme here---but that's OK that it didn't show up here! I know it's coming! That 1920's wedding must have been exquisite!

Reviewer: Micm (Signed) · Date: February 17, 2012 08:31 PM · On: Flowers and Forever

This was J-U-I-C-Y and utterly "Carlisle" in tone---he can be romantic and dashing when he isn't in doctor-mode! I can't wait to see what you cooked up for the wedding and honeymoon!

Reviewer: Micm (Signed) · Date: February 17, 2012 07:42 PM · On: The Dance

I can just picture Esme and Carlisle dancing together, like Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, ---the envy of everyone in the dance hall! Edward was quite loving and gracious in accepting Carlisle's decision.

Reviewer: Micm (Signed) · Date: February 17, 2012 06:58 PM · On: A Leap of Faith

I cried...it's that simple! How lovely that many of hospital staff rejoiced for Carlisle and Esme! How sweet of Carlisle to bury little Benjamin so reverently for Benjamin's and Esme's sakes! I was so pleased to see your development of our Edward who wasn't jealous of Esme for Carlisle's love and care. It's another of those SM gaps and I always wondered if Esme's initial presence in those pre-Twilight years had been so trouble-free.....

Reviewer: Micm (Signed) · Date: February 17, 2012 05:53 PM · On: Homecoming

Hallelujah...now, that sounds more like MY Twilight Vampire Men: passionate, trustworthy, honorable, tender, gentle, sweet, loving and indescribably, handsomely HOT! LOL!! I'm so glad you gave both Esme and Carlisle epiphanies!! It's about time! God Bless Edward's perceptions; Esme almost vanished right under Carlisle's nose---for a change, Carlisle was the one a bit too analytical and philosophical. He temporarily forgot to be a man in love!

Reviewer: Micm (Signed) · Date: February 17, 2012 07:44 AM · On: Choices

Charles got what was coming to him! If only Carlisle had expressed more of his feelings, wooed Esme a  bit stronger, she might have stayed! How foolish!

Author's Response:

Hi Michelle!  So nice to find more of your wonderful reviews!  This is the first story I completed, so please excuse any mistakes/oversights!  It was very fun to tell as I have the strongest attachment to Carlisle and Esme of all the Twi characters.  The best part was filing in some of the holes/unaswered questions from the saga, although, you will find some of my backstories are now incorrect since the release of SM's Guide...just ignore that : )

I want to thank you again for the help on Honeymoon Suite.  I have not made the corrections yet because my computer at home won't let me.  For some reason, anything that has a box to fill in, doesn't take.  So I have to do my work at Twilighted on my work computer -- obviously when the boss is not in...

I hope you like the rest of the fluffy story and thanks so much for the reviews!!

Charles stalking Esme, now, was almost like James stalking Bella decades later! Charles is in for a nasty surprise if he tries to hurt Esme, though! I thought you twist the "chase" idea to reveal Esme "chasing" Carliiisle's thoughts and feelings for her and vice versa! I have a feeling you still may....

Reviewer: Micm (Signed) · Date: February 17, 2012 04:37 AM · On: Secrets

Yes, I caught it all! Edward still longed for a mother to love, to comfort and  to advise him. You also just made me realize that Edward, at first, needed parenting and needed his rebellious period away from and return to Carlisle and Esme more than a romantic relationship with a another vampire or a human girl (---if this human girl could handle the reality of vampirism,) at this time period! Edward simply wasn't ready in his heart to appreciate romantic love yet; his heart wasn't "soft," nor gentle, nor open, nor tender! He had too much anger and resentment. Any human or vampire female love interest would have felt quite hurt over Edward's cold behavior and would have left Edward! This was a terrific chapter!

Hmmm...sounds like God did have a divine plan for each the Cullens as they entered the family over the decades until we see the birth of Bella and her emergence as Edward's teenage sweetheart!!

Reviewer: Micm (Signed) · Date: February 17, 2012 03:35 AM · On: Transformation

You created tremendous tenderness and empathy within Carlisle as he slowly revealed Esme's vampire existence in increasing levels....it was poignantly done; I cried a little over those stages! Yes, in a way, Edward was right to intervene---even though Carlisle revealed everything to Esme in constructive and gently increasing stages; ----the vampiric thirst was inescapably coming --no matter how slowly Carlisle attempted to counsel Esme! However, Edward was also being his pre-Bella-influenced, analytical, slightly cold-hearted self and it didn't help matters either!

Reviewer: Micm (Signed) · Date: February 16, 2012 10:21 PM · On: Resurrection

A very sad chapter towards the end! I felt Esme's anguish, delusion and desolation.

I'm proud of you for posting the suicide prevention number!

I had always believed Carlisle had encouraged Esme to survive just a bit more before he bit her; and, that she recognized his beautiful, tender voice. Carlisle is so sweet, honorable and gentle! (Our Edward obviously learned a lot from his parents and Carlisle about how to be a gentleman!)

Reviewer: Micm (Signed) · Date: February 16, 2012 05:26 PM · On: Ashland, Wisconsin

Too bad Carlisle didn't realize what happened because of the taxi driver's urgency--he might have helped Esme and her baby, Benjamin! I wonder if Esme would have rediscovered her affection for Carlisle during her pre/post-delivery; would she have, accidentally or purposely, discovered Carlisle's and Edward's vampire lives; and therefore, she would have begged to be changed into a vampire for the same reason---love,  like Bella wanted Edward to change her decades later?  What an eerie kinship Esme and Bella would have experienced together! Carlisle would have dropped everything to aid Esme (--just like the Christmas story you wrote about Carlisle helping a mother deliver her baby in the car as her very young son watched,)---even if it had delayed Carlisle to reach Edward! Esme really suffered!

Reviewer: Micm (Signed) · Date: February 15, 2012 11:45 PM · On: Dr. Carlisle Cullen

This was a sweet chapter; another moment SM didn't give us--Edward accepting Carlisle as his second father! Carlisle's sacrifice for his and Edward's safety certainly sounds enough like a father to me!!

Reviewer: Micm (Signed) · Date: February 15, 2012 11:24 PM · On: Esme Anne Platt

Yea Esme! You found yourself again; trusted that inner voice and escaped Charles! Maybe I would have left Charles a burned dinner and an empty house in the bargain---it would serve Charles right!

You really displayed Esme's desperation, sadness; yet, her determination!

Reviewer: Micm (Signed) · Date: February 15, 2012 10:59 PM · On: First Meeting

I agree with you about the inappropriateness; yet I felt as though Carlisle wished Esme was closer to adulthood so he could approach her. I sensed a frustrated longing within Carlisle already!  This meeting reminds me of Midnight Sun; when Edward longed to be human so he could approach Bella for a date (--or at the very least, be more in control of his thirst for Bella's blood!). Edward constantly thought about how he would/could woo Bella (--once he admitted to himself and to the Cullens that he was in love with her,) better than all the other nondescript, hormone-driven, teenaged boys at Forks High School. Edward sensed that Bella would see his interest, honesty, sincerity and love and be her hero and sweetheart!

Author's Response:

Susan, so sorry it took me so long to reply to your review -- especially such a wonderfully warm review.  I'm so glad my writing evoked emotion.  I enjoyed getting into the characters' minds and then letting them tell the story.  Twilight has been such a gift to me.  Take care!

Author's Response:

Thanks for being my 300th review!!  As well as a thank you for reading and rating.  I'm so glad you liked the story.  I would recommend you give the "Through Their Eyes" series a try.  Each one shot is from Esme or Carlisle's POV and cover some very key/controversial(?) topics.

Thank you!

Great addition to the story of Twilight! I think SM would love it.  I love the characters that she created and you have added to the motivations behind their choices.  I look forward to reading more of your work. Thanks for enjoying writing your stories...that's why they are go good :)

So sorry it has taken me so long to respond to your review -- I can only respond to reviews on my work computer -- go figure.  I do very much appreciate you reading C&E: How the Love Story Began and that you sent me your kind words!  Thank you!
