Pretty exciting. That hybrid breeding failure rate is pretty damn high (I would have thought vampire-like resiliency in the womb would be more characteristic).

So I've read the first two chapters and I have to disagree with you. They are Not slow, just concrete. I love it actually, I'm the kinda person that loves detail. And you are great with detail.
The interaction between father and daughter, to mother and daughter is very well thought out.
