He will need to take James down - I like the twist in this story.  The mating rituals are very interesting.  I look forward to your next chapter.

So Bella was kidnapped and kept as a kind of blood slave before James and Laurent went too far.  I would liken Bella's experience to that of being kidnapped and raped and it's no wonder that when Edward turned up she reacted the way she did, who wouldn't.

I never thought of Bella's shield being the thing to protect her from James being able to track her.  Now of course Edward has pointed this out and the realisation that James could still be looking for her putting all of her family in danger is disturbing to say the least.  Will Edward and the Cullens try to teach Bella to extend her shield? 

There's so much to think about.  I can't wait for the next chapter.  Lunch would be amazing, could you imagine.....alas it's a little too far to come. *sigh*

Yeah - it's kind of like a vampire version of rape.  Bella's shield is actually going to play very little in the story.  It's just a sideline detail kind of thing.  Glad you liked the chapter :)  See you soon.

Great chapter!  Bella's explanation of her death makes a lot of sense in regards to her actions in response to mating.  I'm glad to understand, and that Edward now knows.  :)  More power to them!

I wonder if James' body would have started decomposing- without more enzymes from Bella's blood to maintain him?  Would his body have grown dependent upon hers, even while not hers for him?  Or does this only happen when they truly are mates?

Great point.  James never completed the mating ritual with Bella.  But she's been worried this whole time that somehow part of her is still tied to him.  And for the ritual to work - you must have the female craving the blood as well - like Bella did with Edward.  I've created such a crazy world here.  I should write a manual :)  Just kidding.

Oh, my!  I'm simply speechless.  Don't know what to say.  Loved the fact that you made Edward imperfect and a messy vegetarian.  And then to have his feeding habits so similar to her trauma...wow!  Cannot wait to see what Edward does to James and Laurant.  Love your story.   One of my favorites.  Thanks so much for posting!

The literature, sexual tension and the angst of Tanya showing up made this so wonderful and amazing to read. I was sad to get to the end of the chapter and look forward to more to come.  I'm into the connection between Bella and Edward and as their sexual tension rises and their relationship evolves, it will be great to see how much they come together and what they overcome.  I felt the way Bella dealt with Tanya was true to her and most effective. That was a powerful scene in the chapter. Well done, and I can't wait for the next update. Have  splendid weekend-
