Brilliant, once again!

Author's Response:

Thank you so much for reading and reviewing :) I've just sent you a PM teaser for the next chapter.

Wonderful chapter.  I liked their reunion and first hunt together.  I really find it fascinating to see Edward from an outsider's perspective.  It's very different than reading it from the perspective of the rest of the Cullens and Bella.  I think it's one of the things I like best about this story.

Author's Response:

Thanks so much for taking the time to review. I'm glad you enjoyed this chapter. I will confess that these chapters are, in some ways, love letters of a kind to the cities they take place in. I really enjoy the idea of these vamps running around the cities I've lived in and/or visited.

I really like Julia's character and the beginnings of her friendship with Edward.  it's nice to get an outside perspective on him.  You've done a beautiful job of staying within the lines of canon Edward.

Author's Response:

Thank you! Julia is really fun to write and she often surprises me. As much as I enjoy SM's Twilight universe, I really enjoy exploring Edward's perspective -- he is such a juicy character.

Kherisma has been telling me for ages that I need to read this, and I am so glad she did.

Loved the first chapter!  It's such a unique premise for a story and I am really looking forward to reading more!

Author's Response:

Oh, hey! :) Thanks so much for reading and reviewing. I appreciate the feedback; as I'm sure you know from your own stories, hearing from readers is such a pleasure.

The plot thickens! I love your storyline and your storytelling. You are a very talented writer! As with all great writing, your's is delicious!

Author's Response:

Thanks so much for reading and reviewing1 I appreciate the feedback and it helps inspired me to write. I sent a PM with a teaser for the next chapter -- hope you enjoy it ;)

I am so glad that when Edward goes out on his own he is able to connect with one of his own kind, not to mention a friend.

We know that he has his rebellious years so it comes as no surprise that he feeds upon humans.  Feeding upon humans with known evil minds makes that a bit easier.  I do, however, find it somewhat sad to see him lose that bit of innocence.  In reading this chapter I compare his new found thirst to that of an addict of sorts as they chase their own dragon.

Author's Response:

I have often thought about the vamps' desire for human blood to a form of addiction. And yes, I think Edward's loss of innocence is very much a part of his growing up and bittersweet. He is such a curious creature with few opportunities for real change; I think it's inevitable that he explore options, even when they are on the darker side of his nature. Thank you for reading and reviewing!

I was so happy when Edward found a friend to spend time with.  It really is sad that they are on opposites sides in their feeding habits.  It makes me sad that she fled.

Author's Response:

I've always thought it would be nice for Edward to have a friend to hang out with. Sadly, Julia and Edward just never quite seem to be on the same page -- too bad really. Well, except for the whole Bella thing, of course! Thank you for reviewing. :)

heartbreaking.

Author's Response:

I had a hard time writing this chapter, actually; I dreaded putting Julia through the whole thing, even though I'd planned it from the very beginning of the story. *sigh* Thank you for reading and reviewing :)

Generally I only read complete stories but due that you have so few reviews I decided to start now. I do not remember how or where I found this story but I am glad I did.

There is something about this Edward that has my knickers in a twist, in a good way of course. Definitely a knight in dark armor. And I like Julia too. Looking forward to more!

Sandra

Author's Response:

Thanks so much! SM's Edward is always so restrained, I enjoy seeing him lose a bit of control. Okay, lose a lot of control :) Thank you for reviewing!

This is such a unique storyline, and your writing is "spot-on."

Author's Response:

Thank you so much -- I've enjoyed writing this story and the characters :)

I wonder if in the future if Julia will pose a threat to Bella or not.  If Julia will seek Bella out to destroy.  I do have a question though--Does the incident with James and his coven occur in this world???  I am guessing Julia will be happy to see Edward knowing that he is away from Bella and left Bella but I think as time goes on deep down it will bother her Edward's pain.  I wonder if the incident with Bella jumping from the cliff occurs or what forces Edward to go back to Bella.  If it is canon in that Rose tells Edward about the cliff and he runs to the Volturi how would Julia react.  Also wonder if Daniel will cause problems in future.  I wonder how much significance your title has to the future wondering if Julia lives or not and if it is her corpse that is on the fire that you are referencing too and the teardrop is figuratively speaking Edward's.

Author's Response:

Thanks so much for reading and reviewing. You're asking lots of great questions -- let's see what I can answer without giving too much away! This story is following canon, essentially running parallel to SM's storyline and seen through Julia's eyes. So the events leading up to Edward leaving Bella and Forks occur, the cliff jumping, Italy, etc. -- we see the consequences of the events from Julia's perspective. The title of the story is significant for a few reasons and I will get into them in a later chapter. This story has changed quite a bit since I started writing it; the original ending I had in mind for Julia is no longer a certainty. So all I can say is hang on while we go on this ride together. Thanks again for reviewing!

oh I can why this chapter made someone cry because I feel like sobbing right now! I love Edward and Julia! They have something special. will he ever see her again??

Author's Response:

to be honest, on my work i was listening to the playlist for this story and when the song for this chapter came on i welled right up myself - sheesh! (here's a youtube video if you feel like a little emo music, :) http://youtu.be/jVjiZVD-hpE) the story's not over yet, so julia and edward will be talking again. thank you for reading and reviewing, i really appreciate it!

OMG! Let me put it this way, this story (and I've only read the 1st chapter so far) was so good I added you as a favorite author. lol This story was truly amazing! It sucked me in immediately as if I was right there watching it happen before my very eyes. The true mark of a great story and koodo's to any writer who can do that to their audience. Edward was written well too because it is something I can picture his character doing given his past. Fantastic job! I can't wait to read more!

Author's Response: Wow, thank you very much! I'm happy to hear you liked the story's beginning and hope you enjoyed the following chapters as well. Thanks for reading and reviewing, it's wonderful to hear feedback! :)

oh is it weird that I think this is sweet? Haha. I mean at the end with Edward and Julia on the roof. This is awesome! I hope you write some more soon.

Author's Response:

ah, thanks. they are sweet to each other, i think, and trying to be good friends to one another. thank you for reviewing!

Reviewer: transitory_moment (Signed) · Date: May 23, 2011 06:56 PM · On: Prologue

wow! You kept me guessing who Julia was throughout this whole chapter. It was so intriguing!! And the last part about how beautiful and deadly Edward looked...brilliant!

Author's Response:

thank you so much! and yeah, i like a little bad vamp edward :) thanks for reviewing, i appreciate it!

You made me late for work! Really enjoying this different take -it's very intriguing. Please keep writing.

Author's Response:

Ah, sorry about the lateness, but thanks so much for reviewing. Glad you're enjoying the story :)

I've only gotten as far as the prologue, but you've done a wonderful job with it so far!

Author's Response:

Thank you! I'm enjoying writing this story and looking forward to see what happens next.

Interesting take on Edward's time away from the Cullen family.  I enjoyed your story but was distracted trying to figure out who was actually telling the story. At first I thought it might be Jasper or even Emmet. Then Alice.  Your descriptions and pace were excellent as you slowly rolled out the needed details to the reader, without simply telling them flatly what was going on.  I'm curious to know where you take it!  Thank you for sharing!

Author's Response:

Sorry it was a bit of tease at first :) Julia is a bit of an enigma, even now that we know who she is, but she's really fun to write. Thanks for reading and reviewing!
