This chapter was flawless.

I want to say thank you, thank you so very much for making Bella stay. Every single story has Bella run at the inital 'Cullen confrontation' thus dragging out the nitty-gritty first talk. It produces angst, adds a chapter or two to the story, but it's so annoying. I really do like this Bella. This Bella, who despite how broken she obviously is, has enough integrity and a blackbone to deal with the Cullens head on. I think you've nailed her characterisation better than Stephenie Meyer did. The obvious need she has to protect and making everyone happy came out. I felt so sorry for the poor thing.

I really, really hated the Cullens in this chapter. But, I really love that their inital instinct was to destroy the 'immortal children' and Bella (?). That's how a vampire in this world would react. That being said, I wanted to slap them all (especially Carlisle) for not waiting for an explanation, or giving Bella the benefit of the doubt. I get the impression that Bella and the kids have been through more than the things you've hinted at thus far. I would have walked away if I was Bella (but not before bitch slapping Rosalie... jealous much?). I really wanted Esme to step forward and given Bella a chance... but she didn't.

And Edward killed me. The 'I don't know how he plays into this'... simply flawless, it conveyed perfectly how lost he was. And Bella's response. *tears*

I'm thinking that Bella and the kids didn't spend a lot of time with Miri and Nahuel. I would have thought that Nahuel would be more aware of what was happening in Europe, if he is that intent on stopping his father. Assuming, of course, that the distruction in Europe is solely coming from Joham and co, and not the conflict between Joham and Nahuel. But, I could be 100% wrong with that train of thought.

Why did you have the wolves stay back in the carpark? Are they waiting for Bella/the Cullens to appear, or will they make their appearance some other way? (It's worth a try ;) )

The next chapter is going to be painful, isn't it? Miri's secret and Bellas possible explaination of what has happened.... omfg I am so excited. Getting an update from this story is such a 2 fold situation, the excitment of another update, and the knowing that there's going to be a wait for the next installment! I'll be waiting (im)patiently for the next chapter! As always, the wait is ALWAYS worth it. Thanks for another wonderful chapter :-)

Author's Response:

I'm so glad that you and everyone else seems to approve on what direction I decided to take Bella :), I always had a problem with how easily she accepted Edward and the other Cullen's back so easily, and how they never really saw the damage done by thier departure. I always saw their willingness to go with Edward's lead and leave as a reflection of how much they underestimated Bella, which in itself I think showed how little they respected her.

And yes, you seem to be on the same page as everyone else regarding the Cullen's. They really messed up, didn't they? ;) I'd imagine they figured Bella turned a child that looked like Edward because she was lost in emotional heartbreak that she couldn't explain due to the change dimming her memories, and that having the child around filled that void. It's not uncommon for Vampires to change people who look physically similar to them, after all, Sasha did that very thing with Kate, Irina, and Tanya, did she not? ;)

I'm a bit blown away by how many people love that Edward line...:)

As for Nahuel and Miri...it's already hard enough to communicate with someone in a foreign country over the phone, let alone through letters. Especaially when you're living off the grid...Tony and Miri have a system....:)

Nice try :) Think of it this way; you belong to the supernatural world and your purpose is to protect humans while keeping said supernatural world under wraps. How does a big confrontation in a public area accomplish that? ;) the logical thing to do would be to wait and see if the threat is a threat...

As for the next chapter....I never like dropping allmy eggs into one basket....

but it will be painful :D

thanks for reviewing, I nearly died from glee when I first read this :)

Thank you so much for updating....the chapter was long but for some reason it never feels long enough (pls take that as a compliment).  Tony is so angry, understandably so...Edward definitely needs to ask for Bella, Reni and Tony's forgiveness.  Can't wait to read the next chapter.  Please update soon.

Ohhhh dear, Tony's about to get way, way more mad, if it were possible.  And I DID catch the reference to the wolves, with the help of your end note! I don't know that I agree with Bella's rationale about why she has to explain anything to them - and why would she care what they think at this point, anyway?  But whatever, a small point, since they have to figure it out sooner or later for the plot to move forward.  THANK YOU for the new chapter, I am really enjoying your story!

Author's Response:

In the grand scheme of things, it's not really them that's she's proving herself to. Deep down, I think she's trying to prove to herself that she's not who they think she is. Edward leaving, everthing thats happened to her, really shattered her grappling on who she thought she was. Not walking away and facing the cullens head on, dishing out everything that's happened to her and her children, no matter how painful, is her proving to herself that she is strong, that she is mature, that she still is the person she was before vampires came into her life. It's about solidifying her identity. Solidifying who she is for herself.

So I guess in a way, its' her self-preservation finally kicking in. :)

And your right, Tony's going to get more upset :)

Thanks ;)

Whoooo! Killer chapter! Really well written! Tony needs some love and guidance ~ not that Bella isn't giving him that but, to have some influence from his Uncles would be advantageous. I love how he made Jasper hiss in the last chapter! Mhm, Tony is a little badass! He's really pumping Reni for info, he should just talk with his Mom...ah, the teen years, lol!

Author's Response:

lol glad you like :) And yes, he's really desperate for answers...

This was great, im glad Bella stood her own in this, it would have sucked if she didnt stand up to rose and all. Sheesh I feel kinda bad for Edward though, I wouldnt want to be in his situation.

btw...the wolves...maybe those kids that were laughing by?

Author's Response:

This is one of my favorite fics. Update soon please! I did notice the Reni's comment about some people not smelling so good. I wondered if that was a wolf.

Author's Response:

Your close :)

I'm thrilled you have updated. Your story is so good. I can't wait to see what happens next. Did everyone spot the nasty smell...Wolves???

This is really very good - I like Bella, Tony and Reni and I hope they eventually reconcile with Edward (although I do hope Bella gets to kick his arse for a bit rather than just falling over straight away like they normally do when he returns!) and the rest of the Cullens.

Never liked Rosalie anyway - she always seems to jump to conclusions and needs to think things out a bit more.  Hopefully what Bella has to say will shut her mouth for her.

Great story line and looking forward to seeing where this goes - how long will it take Bella to tell them it's Joram and how long before the Volturi turn up again, ooh and how long before they try to kick the Cullens/Swans arses??  (Sorry that was like watching Uncle Buck!)

Well done.

Achilles

Author's Response:

Trust me, Bella's not going to be falling in ANYONE'S arms anytime soon.

Rosalie is quite vain and selfish. But she does care about her family, which is partly why she reacted so poorly with Bella. She's generally wary of anyone and anything that presents as a possible threat to her life/routine. She holds such a strong grudge against Bella because she sees her as the reason why her family isn't the same. I know I haven't shown it, but the Cullen's haven't been the same since their departure, and that infuriates Rosalie, even more so since it's because of a "trivial distraction" (Bella). Like in the original series, Rosalie refuses to believe that Edward's feelings for Bella are stronger than her own for Emmett. It's all about her.  Ergo, she's still at loss as to why her family is mooning over someone that in her eyes wasn't even important. She is quite deluded. She has some growing up to do....

As for the Volturi....you'll just have to wait and see ;)

thanks for reviewing:)

I can't stand the Cullens right now. I feel so bad for Tony and Bella. Poor Reni just doesn't know what the hell is going on. sigh....

I am really excited that I got to read more about Tony and is family today, and at the same time I am really frustrated that I will have to wait again to read more.

This story is one of the most intriguing and captivating I have ever read, and every day I hope it will be the day of another update.

I really enjoyed this chapter - I cannot wait for this to continue - You have done a very good presentation of Tony's and Reni's abilities - and now you leave me wonder how Bella and Edward will be able to continue!
