This was a  good chapter but I worry what's bothering Jasper.

Author's Response:

Thank you for reading and reviewing! I'm sorry that I don't have time to make this response personal but I wanted to get a teaser to you anyway! Thanks again!

Bella opened her mouth to ask ‘Why not?’ when they both heard the distinct buzzing of a cell phone. Bella knew that Jasper had a cell phone, she had seen it plugged into the wall on several occasions, but she had never heard it being used. No one ever called it and Jasper never used it to communicate with anyone. She had begun to wonder if anyone even had the number. Jasper...reached into his pocket, pulling out the small black flip phone that was flashing. He looked at the screen and frowned. After he pressed a couple buttons the flashing stopped and the phone fell silent but just as Jasper was about to slip it back into his pocket, it started up again.

He sighed, “I better answer it.”

Bella just nodded, wanting to ask who it is, but feeling that it wasn’t her place. She turned her head to the window and let her cheek rest on her knees.

“Hello, Emmett.”

Why does Jasper still insist on drinking blood from humans? It's not like he doesn't have the opportunity to hunt game with Bella. Seems strange that he would still stick to that diet when he could make the change. I guess he's being stubborn.

I feel so bad for Bella.  I know that she misses her friends and father.  I think that it is just as bad on Jasper.  I think that he feels guilty for taking everything away from her.  Can't wait to read more.

Oh goodness.

Jasper really must be having a tough time. I think Bella is trying and that's a relief. I also see that she's not thrilled entirely about this life but she is doing the best she can.  And if Jasper can feel her ambiguity...duh...that's gotta be hard for him, being as he is.

I am so enjoying this story.  I do hope that one or the other of them is able to stop walking on eggshells soon. :)

I sighed in contentment when I finished this chapter. Charlie's grief translated well in this and I ached for Bella and Jasper.  Both have so many issues and they are very well suited may it be as friends or more (only you know) time will tell. I love the slow development of this story and for once I am in no hurry to reach the end. I am just enjoying the ride. I am positive there are many more twists and turns ahead.
