Reviews For London Rain

dont care to much for toms point of view . you used to post faster what happened?

Author's Response:

Oh dear.  Sorry to hear that.

I post weekly, time and Beta permitting.

Thanks for the stars!

Reviewer: LiRock (Signed) · Date: November 13, 2010 11:51 AM · On: Chapter 25 - Stay...

What a sad chapter. Poor Rob. He's trying so hard but he's such a guy. I really hope Evie can work through her demons while he's away. What is it about a guy crying that chokes us up? Especially imagining Rob crying!

Thank you for another wonderful chapter. They go by too fast.

We appreciate you sharing with us so much.

Author's Response:

I think this last chapter was actually the saddest for me to write - the aftermath was so hard for all of them.  He's just a boy, as Lily once said, and he's trying so hard.  Evie is strong and she'll work through her demons, yes.  And I know...Rob crying?  Arrgghhh!

You are so very, very welcome and thank you so much for reading and reviewing.  It makes me smile so much!

Reviewer: KathyK (Signed) · Date: November 13, 2010 11:08 AM · On: Chapter 25 - Stay...

It's kind of hard picturing Rob with a blonde. Anyway, great story. Why is he always so insecure? You'd think someone who has the attention he gets would be stronger than that. But I guess he did get thrown into it rather quickly and probably wasn't prepared. He's so adorable, though, that's why we love him.

Author's Response:

Ahh, see I just think I could picture him with anyone - regardless of looks, because he seems to go for quirky personalities.  But maybe that's just me!  Lol!

Hmmn. Why is he so insecure?  Well, my theory on this is that just because he gets all the attention for playing Edward, Tyler etc, that's not truly 'him'.  And as much as fans might say that they love him for him etc, they don't really know him, therefore his insecurities come from his true self, the parts of him that only those close see.  His flaws, his imperfections.  The 'real' him.  In London Rain he's let Evie in on the 'real' Rob, and that's what fuels his insecurities.  It doesn't matter that millions of women want to jump his bones, he's only concerned about one woman and right now they are in a painful situation where all sorts of feelings can surface for them both.  He is adorable though, yep, I agree.  I want to take him home and wrap him in a blanket and well...uhhm...

Thank you so much for reading and reviewing!

Reviewer: KnoKnayme (Signed) · Date: November 13, 2010 10:44 AM · On: Chapter 25 - Stay...

ahhhh heartbreaking!!!!

Why is Evie giving Rob such a hard time about being jealous of Brent? She knows that Brent wants her again and so she shouldn't discredit Rob's feelings of insecurity. I mean he was acting like a tool, admittedly, however... he did have a valid reason. And man... calling her sweetheart inn front of her current boyfriend and his family? Even if Brent didn't mean it in a passive aggressive way, that is still insensitive and innapropriate to do.

God sorry for the bitchfest lol. Your story evokes strong emotions from me (which is a sign of quality storytelling).  :) great chapter by the way.

Author's Response:

Don't apologise for a bitchfest!  I welcome comments like this, and by that I mean comments from people who are looking at the story constructively and intrigued by the characters behaviours.  So, in terms of Evie's reaction to Rob about Brent - Well, she's just been through a trauma and is all kinds of emotional so she is on high alert about anything.  In the kitchen she wasn't thinking about the fact that Brent maybe still wants her, she probably wasn't thinking all that much about anything, as she's a bit all over the place.  (Hence whey I haven't done her POV yet).  I agree, Brent calling her sweetheart in front of Rob and his family was not the most sensitive thing for him to do.  The thing about Brent though is that he actually doesn't care what anyone else thinks.  He cares about Evie, he's always called her 'sweetheart' and so he doesn't see any reason why he shouldn't continue.  As harsh as it may sound, he doesn't care how Rob feels, he's only seeing Evie.  Not particularly sensitive, no.  And I for one don't really blame Rob for his need to be territorial.  So, I guess what I'm trying to say in rather a lengthy way is that yeah, I get what you're saying about Evie.  She's not always rational at the best of times!

Thank you so much for getting so involved in the story!  Hope to hear from you again!

So sad....................looking forward to better times.  But difficulties make us stronger.  Enjoying this story tremendously

Author's Response:

Ahhh, better times are just around the corner.  I promise!  In fact, there is a little banter between Tom and the girls next time to ease the tension.  Rob and Evie will be reunited soon and things will start to pick up.  There's a lot of healing to be done, but they need each other to do some of it.  I'll get them there.  Thank you so much for reading and continuing to review. It makes me so very happy to know people are still enjoying the story.

Reviewer: AnnLinny (Signed) · Date: November 13, 2010 10:26 AM · On: Chapter 25 - Stay...

awesome like always - but I'm not surprised by that.

Loved the struggle and who can blame her for wanting him to stay?! she knows it's not right but it takes a lot of strength on her part to let him go now even though she knows she needs him.

Absolutely loving the new banners by the way! ;o)

Author's Response:

Awww, thank you so very much.

She really showed her vulnerable side there.  It was a moment of panic and pure need on her part.  I love her more as a character for just being human like that, and although it was tough for Rob I think it probably did him good to know that she needed him after he had been feeling so crappy.

I like my new banners too!  There are some very talented peeps out there!  Thank you hon! x

I would love a Tom pov...great chapter m'dear...my heart is all sorts of achy for these two, but I'm hanging in there with you!  Love it!

Mwah!

teddi

Author's Response:

Hey teddi!  Why, thank you!  I shall be delivering Tom soon I hope! (Maybe today if my Beta has time to validate).

My heart is achy too.  They are really going through it.  Tom brings a little humour to the table next time, although it's still a difficult chapter in some respects.  BUT, things are looking up.  Changes are coming, and some of them good.  Thanks for sticking with me!

Phoo! Now I'm crying! Poor Evie - and poor Rob too - I can't imagine how he must be feeling, knowing he has to leave and not really wanting to. :(

Sage advice from Mr. P - and from TomStu! I'm so impressed.

Brent leaves a yucky taste in my mouth. I don't care for how casual he is with Evie.

But, I giggled - silly schoolboy staredown.  They all do that, don't they?!

Can't wait to see how their time apart plays out - I think they'll be alright.

Loved it, C!

xoxo

Author's Response:

Oh phoo indeedy!  He was really struggling, wasn't he?

Mr P is a wise man!  And Tom tries his best to be supportive, even when he's cracking a little under the strain himself.  Lovely Tom!

Interesting what you say about Brent being so casual with Evie.  I get that, I do.  I battle with him as a character actually.  He was a big part of Evie's life for 5 years, and he's older too, so his behaviour is very familiar with her but perhaps can be quite threatening to observers.  Silly schoolboy staredown though, yes! He's not too old for that!

I think you're right...

Oh! Thank you!  I have two banners now by two very talented people!  There's a link to the other one coming up in the author's notes for the next chapter.  I shall alternate them both as they are equally awesome!

Reviewer: Newydd (Signed) · Date: November 10, 2010 03:35 AM · On: Chapter 24 - Persistence of Time

Okay I've soaked it all up, absorbed it, processed it and am ready to review now.

I found parts of this uncomfortable to read but I mean that in a good way!  I mean that is was so emotional and tangible that it made me want to stop reading so I wouldn't go throgh the suffering with them but also at the same time it made me want to carry on reading to support the characters and see it though.  And yes, I am totally insane and thinking of them as real people now!

The whole atmosphere of the piece was just right: painful, frustrated, angry, hopelessness, sadness, distressed and shocked.  Beautifully done and not over egged in any way which I'm sure is a difficult line to walk.

This section in particular is outstanding for me and I am so jealous, I wish I could write like this:

----------

"Oh, Robert..."

She moved to run her hand across my hair and that was my undoing. I broke, collapsing my face into her stomach as she pulled me into her.

My body heaved as I cried shamelessly against her, all the while her fingers soothing my hair.

"They hurt her, I couldn't do anything.  They hurt her..."  I found myself mumbling the exact same words Evie had muttered repeatedly about Fuggles.  The irony made me shudder as I sobbed.

--------

Thank you for making LR so good that it transports me into RobTwee's world.  Hope the clocks can stop melting now and they can begin the bumpy road to healing.

~Newydd xxx

Author's Response:

Oh, hon.  I was waiting to hear your thoughts...

I am so owned by this story and the characters, so I can relate to what you said!  Not insane at all!  Well, not in my books!  I shall find it very hard when I eventually decide to put this story to bed.

I'm sooooo pleased it didn't come over as over-egged.  I really wanted the emotions and their mind sets to come across first and foremost over the drama of the situation.

Ooooh, I just got goose bumps that you picked out that part with Rob and his Mum.  It was a very poignant part for me to write.

Gahhh! Thank you for being such a fantastic friend and reader.  I feel so lucky to have you as both!  The melting clocks will always haunt them, but there is healing on its way.

Reviewer: emozing (Signed) · Date: November 09, 2010 04:50 PM · On: Chapter 24 - Persistence of Time

One of the most emotionally charged chapters I have read.  I can only imagine how I would have responded had I walked into a similar situation.  I usually take charge and then fall completely apart after everthing is okay.

I hope that Rob will be emotionally strong enough to help Twee get through this.  Part of me wants to believe that Rob has just never had to face anything like this happening to someone that he loves so much.   This has to definitely make him a stonger person.  But also Twee.  Will this make them grow apart for awhile?  Please let Rob step up to the challenge.  Could he have handled Twee being as badly hurt as Lily.  So much to comprehend here.

Loved that he took Twee to mum.  But you know, I think mum took care of them both.  And Mr. P is on the right track about not leaving Twee.  He has such a good heart.

Tom is so worried about Lily.  But he is strong and will be right by her side.

And what about Ben  -- he's definitely a take charge person.  So good and sweet.

So glad Fuggles isn't hurt too badly -- loved the cab driver -- must be a London way to act -- so not in the states.  Here there would have been a ransom note!

I still hope that when the police find these arses that one definitely has a limp from cracked nuts.

On edge for the next chapter -- you'r the greatest -- thank you for your gift with words and storyline.

Hope your not knackered after reading this -- sorry.

Author's Response:

Wow!  Your reviews always make me smile!  Thank you.

It's interesting what you say about Rob.  He is a complex character in London Rain land.  He has a great deal of emotional depth, and feels everything so intensely.  Of course, he's going to beat himself up a little over the predicament he finds himelf in - having to leave Evie at such a difficult time.  It will make him stronger, yes.  And Evie too. There will be slip ups, but there will be positive changes in all their lives too.  Rob is going to have to deal with Evie not being strong for a bit. She's going to be quite all over the place.  That's going to be a challenge for him definitely.  He's going to feel quite powerless.

He so needed his Mum, didn't he?  Both Mr and Mrs P did took over with them there.  Ben?  Yep.  He's a 'do-er' as Rob would say! And Fuggles will be fine! I've never had a bad experience with a London taxi driver.  They do seem a different breed!

Cracked nuts?  Bwah!  Well, it's going to take some time for this part of the story to unravel.  There will be karma though. Trust.

And thank you!  Not knackered at all!  I love your reviews! xoxo

Reviewer: pearlgem (Signed) · Date: November 08, 2010 08:55 PM · On: Chapter 24 - Persistence of Time

WOW! I love that you arent writing the typical boy meets girl story (not that there i anything wrong with those). I crave this story when you don't update (no pressure though!).

I cannot believe they were attacked! Bastards. I'm wondering about Rob freezing up a few times...its a problem with him.

Author's Response:

Absolutely. There is nothing wrong with the typical boy meets girl story line - and I love reading them.  London Rain was always going to have a few obstacles to get past though, and I thought it would be interesting to not write the ones that are perhaps more often dealt with in fan fics.

I update as often as I can!  I have ten chapters always behind me as a buffer, so I submit a couple of days after I've posted on here. It just takes a little time to go up as it has to go through the queue and get validated by my beta.  She is a very busy bee, but awesome!  Hopefully it'll remain weekly.  I keep my fingers crossed!

Ooooh, perceptive pearljem and your Rob wonderings....

wow. holy crap. that was a lot. poor Evie. poor Lilly. poor everyone. I can't believe it. I hope all gets well and they can get past this. I can't even think how hard this would be. I have faith in you though, I know all will end well. really can't wait for more now!

Author's Response:

Poor everyone indeed!

Thank you sooo much for having faith in me!  It means so much at this stage in the story.

Big hugs! xoxo

Oh poor Rob and poor Tom. To come home and find ...that.

I love how Rob tried his best to be strong for Evie but once she was safe he let it all out.

They've got some healing to do and some thinking to do too.

I think Tom and Lilly might decide to get a place together after this, I wouldn’t think either of the girls would want to stay in that house. So that would leave Evie on her own, well never on her own, Lilly wouldn’t abandon her, but it opens up new possibilities.

I'm still reeling over all thats happened, I feel like going and chain smoking in the garden!

Here’s hoping that things start to get better soon.

Oh, and they have to track down a taxi driver with a concussed dog. That guy deserves a huge tip! As long as he doesn’t sell his story of course. Horrible thought.

Right then, next chapter...........?

Author's Response:

What a mess they came home to, eh?  And to think about what Rob and Evie were like with one another at the Lyric - all anticipatory about their night alone together.  It couldn't have gone any more wrong for them really.

He did okay, didn't he?  He thinks he didn't. He thinks he's rubbish.  But actually, he handled it all pretty well.  And yeah, he let it all go with his Mum.  Bless.

Lots of healing to be done, yes.  Lots.  But they all have each other which will prove to be so important.

Ooooh!  I am doing a happy dance!  Just want to say, I love your thoughts about where this might lead in terms of living arrangements...

I chain smoked writing it.  Oops!

Things will start to get better, after the next chapter!  The next one is still tough.  Rob has little time left with Evie and he's really beating himself up about it. BUT, after that, there's a little distance in terms of time.  We go forward a few weeks and get a Tom POV. Things are improving by that point for all of them.

Oh, and Fuggles?  She'll be fine.  The taxi driver was a saint!

Next chapter is still in the queue...

Reviewer: CanadianCullen (Signed) · Date: November 07, 2010 09:43 AM · On: Chapter 24 - Persistence of Time

guh, that was a great chapter.  I was hoping you'd write it from RPOV, although an outtake from EPOV would be totally interesting!

And poor fuggles :(

Author's Response:

Oooooh, thank you!  I was nervous about it!

I kind of felt it had to come from Rob's POV. The next one is too.  Evie is all over the place, and I may consider writing her POV at some point about it all. She'll be back - chapter after next.  A little stirred, but a little more like Evie again.

Poor Fuggles...She'll be okay!  xoxo

Im really enjoying the story. I really hope that they get through these hard times... of course she will be facing alot of changes... I can't imagine such a thing... it is life-altering and sad... I just hope that they make it through everything okay...

Author's Response:

Hello there!  I'm so happy to hear that you are enjoying my little Rob fic!  Yes, these are hard times, but they will all get through it in their own way.  Change will be plentiful, but some of it is positive.  Thank you so much for reading!  I hope to hear from you again soon!

Reviewer: SwimmingBee (Signed) · Date: November 07, 2010 04:15 AM · On: Chapter 24 - Persistence of Time

Okay, reports are done for the night so I finally get to read! Big breath... here we go.

So phew!! I'm glad Fuggles is okay! They really were nasty men though, huh? What kind of burglars leave a little dog concussed? I've had my house broken into twice before (different houses!) and never did they hurt our lovely cat. Nope, they were dodgy.

Is it wrong that I kind of liked when Rob called Evie sweetheart? Maybe I was in shock along with Evie. It was cute!

Oh my goodness. The taxi driver has Fuggles? I hope he gives her back! It was nice of him to help out though. Clearly, taxi drivers in London are much nicer and more trustworthy than taxi drivers in Melbourne.

Poor Tom... Poor Rob... Poor everybody!!! Sigh!

Aww, Rob's parents were lovely. Except I totally agree with his Dad that he shouldn't leave Evie yet. That's just... nope. I know it's difficult because he's filming, but there's a whole debate there about work versus Evie that my head can't quite fathom right now. But I really, really hope he chooses Evie. Gah!

What a random, blithering review! Sorry! You wrote it fantastically, and that's why I'm all messy about it. I just feel so sad for them all! I want them to get back to normal, but clearly it's going to take a while. Waaaah! Poor Evie!

Thanks Duders. You're awesome! I need to go recover now..

-SwimmingBee x

Author's Response:

Ah, SwimmingBee!

Fuggles - yep, she's okay.  Phew. That was my point though - they are callous.  They hurt Fuggles because she most probably yipped and yapped when they broke in, but hey, it's just downright eeeeevil!

I love that you picked up on the 'sweetheart' thing!  I saw it as quite a tender moment.  The fact that Evie even picked up on it in her shocked state.  What a random thing for her to have said in response to him!

Do you know what?  Whenever I get taxis in London I always have the kindest, nicest drivers!  It's not like that anywhere else though I don't think.  Fuggles will be fine.  He's a decent bloke that's got her!

Hmmn...I see your questioning in relation to work versus Evie and relate to that feeling totally.  If he does stay, he can't stay long.  Hmmn...

Random and blithering?  Never!  It's hard posting at the moment, because I know it's sa difficult part of the story. BUT, I know what's ahead and there are some better times.

Thanks, Bee!  You're awesome too!  Hehee!

I was on the edge of my seat this whole chappie. So relieved that Lily and Evie and Fuggles are ok but I hope they catch the person that did this and I hope Brent is not behind it.

Also I hope Rob can delay his trip to be with Twee.

I felt so sad for Tom and how scared he was

Your writing is utterly amazing as always

Just...WOW. My heart hurts right now, for every one of them. Tom begging Rob to get to the hospital...just heartbreaking. And is it crazy that it didn't even register in my brain that Rob had to leave town the next day? I was so caught up in the drama that I totally forgot he was going to have to leave her.

This was just so good. And I was literally holding my breath think they had killed Fuggles. I don't think I would have been able to go on...

Incredible. Awesome. BAD ASS!

Author's Response:

Tracy!  I'm so glad bad ass is a good term!  Thanks for enlightening me!  :0)

Awww, my little heart hurts too, but don't worry.  I know how it all turns out! *winks* Poor Tom, he was desperate.  And Rob was so torn between the two of them at the house.  He really didn't know what to do for the best.  No, it's not crazy that you didn't register Rob had to leave the next day!  I had to keep reminding myself that when I wrote it.  Phew for Papa P!

I couldn't have had Fuggles killed off.  That would've been worse than if Lily had died!
