Being from East Texas, where the 1950's still exist in the countryside, I recognized the locales. Your descriptions were lovely. Edward must be looking back to his younger years with longing, and opened to the simple relationships. The physical descriptions of roadsounds on dirt roads, wind, and screen doors was too real.
Short but filled with beauty. I enjoyed your story.
