I saw some pictures today of Rob back in Vancouver and it made me think of this story. He wasn't smiling in the pics. He looked tired, worn down. He looked like what I imagine he looked like in your mind before Jen. It made me very sad to see the pics. I just wanted to run and tell the paps and the fans to leave him alone!
This was a very telling chapter. To see how the idea of being "caught" or "outted" affected him, to hear his internal monologue about his life, his fame, the craziness of it all. Very moving.
Author's Response: I feel you. This Vancouver reshoot is driving me crazy. So much flurry over this... people with financial concerns rushing off to flyout to see him... really. maddening... and the paps pics are just too much.
This chapter is really the beginning of this entire story. To have a discussion with Rob, as one of his caring fans, to tell him what he really means to many of us. That he is not just a pretty face, that there is such respect in the world for him. Which is maybe why I get ruffled for being called creepy for writing these stories in the first place.
If people really knew the manner of respect i had for this man, this chapter, and the corresponding chapter in NTE tells it all.
He's just a man, in need of some relief, in need of normalcy.
I can't even truly imagine what goes on in his head when this subject comes up. I am sure it affects him deeply.
thank you, for seeing it. For understanding. It's the whole reason for this story.

It's so great to find out about Robert's thoughts. Yeah, he is fast, falling in love after two days, but well...
I really like "Need to Escape", and it gets so much better, more complex, more intriguing with this companion. Thanks, can't wait to read more! (I'm especially curious about what Nick did to make Rob hit him, but I guess I'll just have to wait...)

I am so glad you are enjoying NTE, and I can only hope this companion story adds more depth to it as we go. I look back at these chapters and think about how far the story has come. It's such a joy to be able add more to the story this way.

I want to thank you for helping to put into words how Rob must feel about the whole fame thing. I've always felt anguish for him having to deal with that all the time. You can see it in his face whenever the paps get his picture.
I've also felt uncomfortable with the teenybopperish fan image we have all been lumped into when I for one feel that there is more to it than that. Jens' words help a little to describe what I'm sure many of us would like to say. Thank you for saying it for the rest of us.
Yes he is sexy, and the eye candy appeal is definatly there, but there are many more reasons for his appeal and you have described it better than I could.

It is the impetus to this story really. My frustration about the craziness that is his life. This chapter is really the beginning for me. My inspiration. Just a conversation with a worn Robert Pattinson and a caring fan that just wants him to have peace in his life. This is how it all began really in my musings.
and here we are...
It's a subject I care deeply about. And if I could, I'd offer any peace I could. Not in the creepy sort of way. Just a bit of quiet.
He is so much more than good looks. His talent goes far beyond that which he has been labeled. I look forward to seeing his continued growth as he matures.
sigh. It's ironic that he is in Vancouver doing reshoots right now, just as he was in this story...

I really have to say sorryy for not reviewing more to your original story i spent nearly 4 days going thru to catch on your nte so I could make my way here I love any story from rpov but your story was wonderful i was held captive for days cant wait now that i am current with your postings but being so nibby did i note some symptoms no one else seems to notice being sick being tired did liz notice also they have been having unprotected sex most of their relationship with no fear of conception well maybe its just me but i think it would be great if not maybe just my overactive fan girl running wild that could really draw this out for ever and I am a huge fan of long stories motu 82 chapters i never miss an up date just saying i am in for the long haul here I LOVE THIS!!!!!

Loved the whole Stolie bit. Also that you mentioned the new black one fans sent him. I remember that! haha. I haven't seen him wear it yet either. Guess there's nothing like the old comfy and soft origianl, with all it's little hand sewn patches. LOL. God, I love that man and all his quirky little ways.
They are so sweet together and it's obvious they are falling hard for one another already. You are so good at writing tender, heart stopping moments such as their playing together in the music room. Beautiful.

I think he probably really is very intuitive with people, regardless of what he says about being awkward with women. I think he can probably read them very well...it's the execution that has him bothered.

Interesting - so Rob had seen the blog that early huh?! and no wonder he reacted the way he did when he spots the VF in her apartment - too funny!
Hooray for revisiting the kitchen again! I can picture that kitchen pic you posted oh so long ago with the nice stainless steel fridge. You know, how bad is it that it's still hot, but all I can think is "geez, those smudge real bad. I wonder is there's a big ass-print smudge on the front now?"
It's a good thing my fridge isn't stainless or I'd be having issues every time I saw it :)
