I wish he'd gotten on that flight, too...maybe paid Jen a personal visit. ;-) And that Details shoot would be enough to give ME a vagina allergy (and I have one, haha).
I hope Mike comes through for him...he's such a sweetheart. Both Mike and Rob, I mean.

Steph, you've captured his anguish so well it's easy to imagine this was actually happening to him during that Details shoot. Absolutely riveting stuff. I can't wait until they reunite again...I hate to see Rob in any kind of pain, real or imagined!

I loved those pics of Rob in Details. I really hope that he wasn't in that kind of pain for that shoot. Made me a little sad.
I'm surprised that he didn't call Lizzy himself, sooner.
So glad I know that everything works out later from Rob and Jen. Reading his anguish would have been too hard manage.

i liked the one of him on the love seat. he still looked sad though. if it was meant for him to look lost and vacant, they did a great job. many of the outtakes show a very tired looking Rob though, so you have to wonder just how hungover he really was. buti am sure it was a hangover and not the fact that he lost the love of his life. that would be very sad.
sigh, it is so nice to know what comes after, isn't it? it makes things a little less painful.

Oh Mack Truck! Why do I think it's ironic that it takes Lizzy to show Rob that he can go and get Jen? And I love the "great escape" part of the chapter, images of Mack and Joe racing down the street after the cab!
Looking forward to the next talk with Lizzy - I can guess what's going to happen in that conversation!

O.K. I'm finally caught up with OTT and I need a stiff drink and a shoulder to cry on. POOR ROB!!!! OMG. Steph, you do angst so well. And I think I said in a previous review that I thought Nick had somehow partially redeemed himself for his prick behavior. Scratch that comment. I would hate to think that someone like Nick could find out that much info on a person in RL. What a low life stalker! Too bad noone caught him outside Jen's place. I can't wait to read the chapter where Rob finds out the extent of Nick's deceitful and destructive actions. Will Nick confess or does someone else (maybe Mack) uncover the truth? I absolutely loved how you wrote this chapter around the Details photo shoot. It worked perfectly. Those pictures were very disturbing to me. Of course he was beautiful as always but something was definitely wrong. I'm glad Rob was persistent in trying to contact Jen through the blog and finally took some action for himself with the encouragement of Lizzy. And of course, our beloved Mack.....a hero and true friend. *le sigh* Can't wait to see how the next chapter plays out.

the Details shoot was very disturbing. it is so nice to see so many people agreeing with that. When i came out, i remember hearing so many saying OMG he's hot! and i was scratching my head wondering why a lost and vacant Rob looked hot to them.... he's beautiful, but the emotion means so much when you look at them.
Oh Nick. so close to sanctuary, only for me to drive him back to hell again.. heehee. we'll see some of Nick unravel coming up.
You know i love my Mack. he'll be a true friend to Rob when he needs it most.
glad you liked the Robfirmations. its a little eery considering he was just on PCH this weekend in a vintage car...after this posted.... PARALLELS! eeek!

Thank God this LA misery will be coming to an end soon. I don't know how much more I can take. Another amazing chapter though. I have been waiting for this one because of the dreaded Details shoot. I had the pictures up on the Details website as I was reading and you really hit the nail on the head in describing his mood during the shoot. He looked miserable and degraded and lost. Totally lost.
Our savior Lizzy has finally made her appearance and gave Rob the best advice possible. I can imagine him running down the stairs on those wonky legs! It's too bad he wasn't able to make his escape, but at least Mack Truck is on his side now. If my calculations are correct, we are now at late Friday night December 11 or early morning on December 12. Lizzy finds Jen on Thursday the 15th so Rob only has 3 days of uncertainty left. I hope Mack can keep him hopeful until then.
Rob is finally wising up about Nick; he knows something is up with him. I don't think he has any idea at this point how bad it really is. He thinks Nick is his friend and a friend would never pull the stunts Nick has pulled.
Yeah Nick is still burning in hell for me.

Author's Response: I just have to say i LOVE you for being able to figure out the dates. it is the 11th of December as we end the chapter, late in the evening. So yes, Rob only has a few days left of torture. But Mack is there for him, and we all know how I love my Mack Truck! he'll be a friend when Rob needs it most.
He is learning a bit more about Nick. Go with your gut, Rob. he knows something is wrong. We'll get to see Nick unvravel from Robs side as the next few days lay themselves out. Remember, Liz has a little talking to with Nick on the 15th...hehehehe
The Details shoot. so glad its a memory now. hard pics to look at. he truly did look lost.

I knew this chapter was going to be gut wrenching, but you brought some light into the angst. Thank Rob that I know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel!
I love your depiction of how the "blow me" shot was captured and your whole view of the shoot, how Rob wouldn't have been totally comfortable with the "edginess" of it. Mister "I'm allergic to vaginas" LOL
Can't wait for the next chapter and when he finds out that Lizzy has met Jen! (now I have to go back and re-read that NTE chapter!)

oh the shoot. It bugged me from the beginning, and i actually wrote the shoot portion of this chapter back in february when the pics came out. 12 hours of vaginas and boobs have to get old after a while, right?

I actually read this about 2 am but wasn't awake enough to leave a coherent thought. The boy started becoming a man and developed a spine (which was obviously there - he just hasn't exercised it enough) I am so proud of him - he actually came out of his wallowing enough to make an escape and go look for her - courtesy of Lizzy who asked the question of why he hadn't. Obviously something happened at the end of the 24 hours which prevented Mack and Rob from going and Lizzie taking over.

and yes, something must happen for him to stay in LA and have Liz go up instead. perhaps a little.....NICK...

Well sing hallelluja for Mack, I knew there was a reason I liked him. He definitely needs more people like Mack and Joe around him. Nick and Stephanie don't seem to have his best interest at heart, or at the least a very skewed version of what they think he needs. Rob just needs to hang in there now we are on the home stretch.

Heartbreaking, is all I can muster to say...... so heartbreaking.... and YEAH Lizzy !!!! Get your head out of your arse and do something bro ..... curiously to see what happens with Mack tho and how it must become evident to Rob that he needs Lizzy to help him..... it makes it much more bearable in the end knowing what happens, but still lots of emotions playing in my pee brain. Man he really hated that shoot didn't he, but always the gentleman, helping Meaghan out of the bath and attempting to warm her! Poor guy. .....i wish he didn't remember breaking the china doll as well, well onto the forumn to see all the great stuff..... Looking forward to NTE update, they'll be home..... hooray..... and yes I know working thru their grief together, but they'll be TOGETHER.

a lot of heartbreak, which may explain why he is so intense with her when they are finally together, to have lost something and been so desperate to find it. i think Rob was much worse off than Jen, she had simply thought he had left her for better things, he thought he had screwed up and therefore was hurting her. poor boy.
But my Mack truck is there to fix things, and Liz...
it really is a nice thing to know what happens, it eases the angst just a tad.
the Details shoot. it will go down in Robinfamy as the shoot that shouldn't have been.

Yeah I don't get why he's being held hostage. Do you know if that really happens? That really sucks if it does. At least we are getting somewhere in finding her... And why didn't he think of going to find her himself? Sometimes I wonder about Rob and how much he doesn't speak up for himself until he has reached his limit, which is too late. Interesting!!!
Author's Response: I doubt it happens to this extreme, but i would think if a manager saw that his client was in danger of having a breakdown (let alone that said manger caused it ) they would have him on protective custody of some sort.
I think Rob is incredibly intelligent, if not a little naive in how he handles things. i can totally see him doing the hardest thing to make the simplest thing work. sometimes you need someone from the outside to make sense of it all.
i hope real Rob can stand up for himself a little better, and much sooner. but i think he is pretty naive in some life things as well.
