Ah. I see!  So not only did he become his 1918 human self again, but he is now in 2009!  He seems to kindof remember Bella.  Hmm...I'm interested to see where this is all going to go.  It may sound strange, but I really want him and Bella to be vampires in the end because they need to be together forever, but it's your story and I'm sure it'll be good either way.

Wow, I still can't fanthom what the hell happened to Edward for him to be in the situation he's in.

Nice chapter! Yes, we're going to see what happened to Edward! Eventually, I know. ;) It's good that Jacob is back and is forgiven. What he did really sucked but since he feels so bad about it... ok. It's all good. Still it's so weird that Edward is human and had that Spanish Flu and infecting every one with it!! Scary! Great writing!! I can't wait to find out what comes next!

Ths has to be the best version of Edwards change that I have read.  Was horrifying reading as he walked through the streets, especially that little child... how horrible :(

I got a little carried away with research for this chapter. I was just going to look for a few symptoms and then got sucked in by how scary the disease was. I was also probably avoiding doing the marking for my class. Marking essays is my idea of hell, which reminds me that I still have 20 calling my name. Thanks for reading!

is Edward a vampire, or not?

Is this around the time when he was just becoming a vampire like 1918 as he uses the name 'Mason' not 'Cullen' ?

has he evn met 'the Cullens' yet?

please help me understand as i do like this this story and i would like to understand :)

This is the mystery. What is he? Where did he come from? When he wakes up in the forrest, he's in the present day not 1918. But it seems that his memories are of his life in 1918. The next few chapters will start to clear the rest of it up a bit.

 

Oooooo...  interesting twist.  Can't wait to read more!!!  This kinda reminds me of a story my mother told me of her friend.  During the Vietnam war, her friend's boyfriend disappeared (he was a soldier).  No one could find him even after enemy camps and sites were destroyed and thoroughly searched.  Finally, a war prisoner escaped and was able to tell his family and her that he was seen alive 2 years prior when they were both held hostage at some prison.  Anyways, she never really moved on nor wanted to.  She waited and waited and waited and prayed for his safety.  Finally, after 10 long years of waiting, both her and his family convinced her that he was dead though his body has never been found (quite common during war).  So she finally immigrated to the States and remarried.  Just 3 months or so after she remarried, he returned.  He finally escaped the year prior and had spent the last year looking for his family and her, returning to where they originally lived only to be told that they all moved.  So he followed their move.  They moved often.  When he finally found his family, they'd gone from Laos to Thailand and told him that she had just remarried.  Upon hearing the news, she passed out.  Her new husband was torn between divorcing her so she could return to him or accepting the fact that he would never have her whole heart.  And she had to decide the same thing.  They both chose option 2 after she found out she was pregnant.  The new husband befriended the old lover and helped him as much as he can for the sake of his wife, who was very grateful.  But she never stopped loving him.  She just couldn't leave her family.  He eventually married too.  Though most people who knew both know that neither married the love of their life and responsibilities is what kept them apart.  I met her once.  I think she was content with her life and tries to be happy but I think she will always regret not waiting longer.  Every time his name came up, she'd get this far away look in her eyes that you only read in books and offers a small smile like it's too painful to ever ask the what if's.  So I hope it's not too late for Bella and our beloved Edward.

Wow. What a sad story. I can't imagine going day to day knowing that you are not married to the love of your life and knowing that it if you had only waited a little longer than you would have had everything that you had dreamed of. Also, it must have been tough for all of them that no one was to blame it was just an unfortunate series of events that led them to that place. Did they see each other often?
