Please never apologize for the darker themes.  I get so tired of Alice being portrayed as some chirpy little optomistic bird on crack.  There's no depth to a character like that.  This chapter isn't dismal, it's somber.  I imagine that Alice had to get through a lot of drama to get to where we met her in 'Twilight'.  I love her insecurites and her unclarity.  Self confidence isn't automatic for anyone.  It must be learned through experience.

I look foreward to the rest of the story.

Thank you! I always thought there was more to Alice than meets the eye. Hopefully the rest of the story won't throw you too much, it's been my project for a while now and I've sort of been of the opinion that only I have to like it, but I'm so glad that a few more people are reading now :)

Wow! I loved this first introduction to Alice's terror, her first visions and her transformation! You barely used a few phrases for the transformation; yet, I felt the pressure of the Alice's experience anyway! Well done! I am looking forward to more of Alice and Jasper's story!

Ugh, that wasn't soon... I'm sorry! But it's getting validated now, so hopefully with the one shots (let me know about yours after you read the chapter) and the like I'll be able to stay a little more focused. I just wrote what I think to be my favorite two pages of the story... and I think it'll fit in next (43) chapter, so I'm really excited to get it out to you all.

Sorry I haven't reviewed this awesome chapter before.  Jasper's POV was so tender and gentle toward Alice.  You really can't blame him for killing the old prisoner to save Alice.  He loves her so much already.  This quote, "For the first time since I laid eyes on her again, I allow myself a moment to fall apart. I pick her up, cradling her face gently to my chest and whispering my desperate apologies to her." made my insides turn all gooey. 

Poor Alice.  She still thought she was being held captive by that horrible James.  I know she can get past it. 

Great job with this chapter--just like always.  I only wish I had access to a computer that would let me submit reviews all the time.  Dern it.

Lots more coming from Alice, all of next chapter is her as well as much of the next. Speaking of said next chapter, it's waiting for validation as we speak, so it should be up soon. I decided not to let myself read (and therefore respond) to reviews until the next is up, keeps my motivation going :)

Em and Rose are back after this next chapter, the rest of the family not until the chapter after that (or two? haven't divided those yet). They're coming, don't worry. We hear from Edward first, of them. It's on the horizon :)

I can see how this took a lot of effort.  My heart breaks for Alice--and for Jasper too.  Her pain really is his pain too, not just in the empath sense. 

I've said it before and I'll say it again.  James is sadistic beast and deserves to die a slow and cruel death.  I can't think of a redeeming quality.  I hope Jasper (and Rosalie who has a well-earned grudge of her own against monsters like him) tear him limb from limb.

Thank you so much for coming back and sticking with the story. My really close friend lost her mom to cancer a few weeks ago and trying to be there for her from across the country made me think of you, I hope things are getting at least a little easier for you, I just can't imagine.

I'm sorry I haven't been reviewing. My mom was hospitalized for eight weeks and passed away last week.  Reading really wasn't possible in my frame of mind.  I'm hoping it'll be a good diversion in the weeks to come. 

Now, onto the diversion:
Poor Alice!  James is really a sadistic jerk.  Making Alice kill is horrible, and the abuse might even be worse.  I really do enjoy your story and think you're doing such a great job with it.  It's unlike anything I've read before.

Yeah... James is a jerkface. It is certain. She won't be with him for long because I just couldn't bear to keep writing it... although I know in real life that certainly isn't how it works. You are a wonderful writer.  I am surprised more people are not reviewing this but after every chapter, I sit back and just am wowed by the artistry of the wording that I am not sure what to write except I can't wait for the next chapter and the next and the next.  Part of me wants to get to the end of the story but part of me is wanting more and more story.

James should be slowly ripped into miniscule pieces and burnt over hot coals so he's sure to feel every ounce of pain possible. I want Jasper to torture him emotionally while he burns as well. This story is REALLY hard to read because of the content, but you're doing an amazing job writing it! Keep it up!

It does go up immediately on ff.net though, so if you get impatient you can check it there :) It's under the same name, if you limit the results to just twilight stories you should be able to find it.
